Senior Safety Engineer

Dynisma is revolutionising the automotive and motorsport driving simulator market with its disruptive Motion Generator technology. Our cutting-edge approach to simulator design delivers more data about vehicle dynamics and ride to drivers and passengers with less latency and more accurately than any other motion simulators available.

Our Founder Ash Warne started the business in 2017 after leading the simulator programmes at McLaren and Ferrari F1 teams. We have since grown to a team of over 100 engineers, delivering turnkey driving simulators to customers including Ferrari F1 Team as well as a number of other marquee brands.

The Role:

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Safety Engineer to play a key role in shaping the future of high-performance motion simulation. This role demands deep multidisciplinary engineering expertise, combined with a strong grasp of system integration and safety engineering principles. You will be a key contributor to the design and development of complex systems that meet the highest safety and performance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead multidisciplinary system engineering activities spanning mechanical design, electrical engineering, controls, instrumentation, and software integration.
Ensure safety and system integration are embedded throughout the design and development lifecycle.
Take ownership of ensuring designs comply with the Machinery Directive (2006/42/EC) / UK Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations.
Conduct and lead Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), design risk assessments, and hazard identification activities.
Provide expert appraisal of engineering designs in relation to Annex I of the Machinery Directive and provide actionable feedback to design teams.
Develop comprehensive and compliant user instructions and documentation in accordance with safety regulations.
Compile and maintain complete Technical Files in line with Annex VII requirements.
Liaise with Notified Bodies and lead Type Approval processes for machinery.
Champion best practices in design safety and system validation across all engineering teams

Key Skills and Qualifications:

minimum 2:1 honours degree in Mechanical Engineering (or a related discipline) from a leading university.
Chartered Engineer status (CEng).
Significant experience in a senior engineering role, ideally in a high-performance or regulated engineering environment.
Demonstrated ability to lead and integrate mechanical and electrical design with a strong understanding of control and software systems.
In-depth knowledge of safety engineering and system-level design compliance with the Machinery Directive and UK Safety Regulations.
Hands-on experience with Technical File creation and working with regulatory and certification bodies.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to mentor and influence across disciplines.

Vacancy Overview Instrumentation Engineer – London, UK Key Responsibilities And Main Tasks Work in the Instrumentation Engineering organization of 5 FTE on Company’s side and around 110 FTE on Contractor’s side. Assure the Instrumentation discipline issuance, review, and approval of around 5,000 technical documents. Implement engineering specifications and provide quality assurance in the procurement of materials, equipment and services to ensure conformity with sound engineering practice and cost effectiveness. Ensure all Project HSE requirements are adhered to and implemented. Ensure HSE is emphasized throughout all design activities. Play an active role in the development of the safety culture on the project, making safety a natural part of all work performed. Provide expertise in Instrumentation and relevant Industry Codes and Standards associated with a multiple train LNG facility, including many different types of on-line process analyzers and application of typical instrumentation types in cryogenic service. Review Contractor-produced and package-vendor produced instrument data sheets for flow, pressure, temperature and level instruments; process analyzers including gas chromatographs, moisture analyzers, oxygen analyzers, etc.; control valves, actuated on-off valves, ESD valves, pressure safety valves; tank gauging systems for LNG tanks and Condensate Tanks; HIPPS system; Fire and Gas detectors; bulk materials including cables, junction boxes, terminations, cable trays. Participate in FATs for DCS/ESD/F&G systems with Automation Engineers. Participate in P&ID reviews, HAZOP and other safety review meetings. Interface with Contractor Instrumentation Engineering site leads to ensure coordination of efforts and that all necessary issues are addressed. Identify opportunities and risks (and their mitigations) for Instrumentation design related operating issues. Work with Process Safety to ensure all appropriate safeguards and mitigations are in place to provide a safe working environment for Operations. Oversight and coordination of Contractor planning and execution activities, with focus on Instrumentation engineering activities, but familiarity with multidisciplinary engineering execution, and procurement. Assist the Lead Instrumentation and Control Engineer in ensuring the Instrumentation discipline technical portions of the EPC contract is adhered to during execution. During site activities, avoid Contractor stand-by / delay by answering quickly to site queries and unexpected technical site problems, oversee rectification of punch list items, and completion of on-site tests, and oversee erection of all discipline-related equipment. The Experience Shall Include Degree in appropriate Engineering discipline. Registration as a Charted Engineer, PE or equivalent preferred Proficient in English language. Eight (8) or more years of relevant experience in Oil and Gas and large projects. Supervisory experience related to plant and project engineering with increasing size and responsibility.
