Role Overview:
In this role, you will be responsible for the support, maintenance, and enhancement of Cisco Call Manager (Cisco Unified Communications Manager - UCM) systems onboard the organization's fleet. Working in Tandem with the existing engineering team, you'll focus on troubleshooting, testing, and implementing fixes to ensure the seamless operation of the Unified Communications infrastructure. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who thrives in dynamic environments and is excited about exploring new places.
Key Responsibilities:
Unified Communications Support:
Provide Level 2 support for Cisco Call Manager systems, diagnosing and resolving technical issues to ensure reliable communication services across various endpoints.
Testing and Troubleshooting:
Conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting of UCM issues. Isolate and identify root causes, providing timely resolutions and escalating complex problems when necessary.
Patch and Firmware Management:
Install critical patches and firmware updates for UCM systems and phones to maintain system integrity, enhance security, and prevent downtime.
Upgrades and Enhancements:
Implement upgrades to Cisco Unified Communications infrastructure, ensuring compatibility and minimizing disruption to service.
Collaboration with Onboard and Offshore Teams:
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including onboard and offshore personnel, to support communication requirements and provide technical expertise.
Requirements:
Technical Skills:
Proven experience in Level 2 Cisco Call Manager (UCM) support, ideally within a large, multi-site organization.
In-depth knowledge of Cisco Unified Communications, including the installation and configuration of patches, firmware, and software upgrades.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, especially within a high-demand, dynamic environment.
Professional Experience:
Previous experience working within a technical support or Unified Communications engineer role is required.
Hands-on experience in troubleshooting and resolving Cisco CM issues.
Soft Skills:
Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a global team.
Adaptability to manage multiple priorities and rapidly changing requirements in a fast-paced environment.
An interest in travel and adaptability to the travel-based nature of the role.
