Barden is partnering on an exclusive basis with a global leader in the HealthTech sector looking to hire a Privacy Counsel to cover a maternity leave until the end of June 2026.

The role can be performed on a fully remote basis, with the occasional visit to the office in London and/or Dublin. However, candidates must reside and be eligible to work in the UK or Ireland.

THE ROLE
The position will be part of the international privacy team, with responsibility for advising on privacy legal matters cross-functionally across the business.

In particular, you will:
perform privacy impact and legitimate interest assessments on processing activities that the business engages in;
review, advise on and negotiate the privacy elements of commercial contracts;
assist in reviewing new products and features in relation to privacy compliance and advise on appropriate commercial solutions;
assist in the continued development and improvement of the business' privacy compliance programme and frameworks;
assist with any required privacy and data protection training and awareness initiatives.

THE PERSON
Ideally a UK or Irish qualified lawyer. However, qualified lawyers in the EU, USA, Australia or New Zealand with exceptional privacy experience will also be considered;
4+ years of post-qualification experience in privacy legal and compliance experience, with excellent knowledge of international privacy laws, particularly the GDPR;
Interest in new technologies and familiarity with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning legislation, such as the EU AI Act.
