Security Systems Administrator
My client is seeking a skilled Security Systems Administrator to ensure the secure operation of their in-house computer systems, servers, and network connections. This role involves monitoring security logs, scrutinising network traffic, updating virus protection, and troubleshooting security vulnerabilities.
You will be responsible for enforcing security policies, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and implementing disaster recovery plans. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in IT security, network administration, and system management.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain security policies and procedures.
Monitor server and firewall logs, investigate security incidents, and apply necessary patches.
Manage and audit security compliance with external vendors and third-party suppliers.
Ensure network and system security, including databases, firewalls, and encryption.
Conduct penetration testing and security audits to identify vulnerabilities.
Provide on-call security support and lead junior team members.
Technical Requirements:
Extensive hands-on experience with firewalls, intrusion prevention, and data encryption.
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, network protocols, and Microsoft Server environments.
Experience with security compliance frameworks (e.g., Cyber Essentials Plus, PCI-DSS).
Familiarity with collaboration tools (Exchange, Microsoft 365, SharePoint) and network security management (MPLS, Firewalls, DNS, DHCP).
Certifications in IT Security are highly desirable.
