We are looking for a Senior Solution Designer to lead the design and delivery of secure, scalable, and user-centric solutions. This role will involve working closely with senior stakeholders across Business, Security, Risk, and Technology to define, design, and document key application and infrastructure solutions.

Key Responsibilities
Gather and document business, security, and technical requirements
Design and document solutions through impact assessments (Design Thumbnails), High-Level, and Detailed Designs.
Support the business in defining screen flows and ensuring clarity in Business Requirements Documents (BRDs).
Ensure Non-Functional Requirements (performance, MI, service levels, etc.) are fully defined and documented.
Work with Enterprise & Application Architects, Developers, and Testers to ensure solutions align with strategic and security goals.
Provide expert insight into mobile technology stacks, architecture best practices, and API integrations.
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify risks, constraints, and architectural considerations in design decisions.
Support the full application lifecycle, including system retirement strategies.

Key Accountabilities
Establish and deliver solutions that meet the business needs and security standards.
Partner with End-to-End Architects, Application Leads, and Service Managers to shape optimal solutions.
Size and assess project impact at the Design Thumbnail Review Board.
Support Build, Test, Security, Business, and Project Management teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Manage stakeholder relationships, ensuring effective communication across multiple business and technology teams.

Ensure all activities are conducted in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Risk Management Frameworks, and Barclays’ internal policies.

Essential Skills & Qualifications
Strong problem-solving skills with experience in documenting application architecture solutions.
In-depth knowledge of client-server interactions, application architecture, and infrastructure.
Expertise in mobile technologies, including iOS & Android platforms.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
Desirable Skills & Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Waterfall, Agile, and Scrum project frameworks.
Strong ability to multitask, prioritize workloads, and work both independently and within a team.
Knowledge of API definition languages (JSON, RAML, REST

On site HV and LV Authorised Person when qualified To proactively check the operation of the Permit to Work system in accordance with the company, Health and Safety procedures and client requirements. Especially with regards to sub:contractors adherence to RAMS. Ensure that sub:contractors perform to meet the requirement of the contract. Administer subcontractor work approvals and safe operation while repair or service is carried out on site. Undertake other tasks as defined and requested by site management. To undertake annual appraisals of shift technicians once you have completed the Appraisal and Development training course. Ensure an awareness and compliance to the contractual KPIs/SLAs. Ensure the Computer Based Maintenance system, e.g. Maximo, Concept, etc is kept up to date and that PPM and reactive tickets are closed out with accurate data captured. Work closely with the Area Contract Manager to ensure that the service levels are maintained to a consistently high level. Essential Skills and Experience Strong background in building services engineering, ideally electrically qualified (level 3 or equivalent) Proven experience in a technical or engineering leadership role within the building maintenance or facilities management sector. Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and system schematics. Excellent problem:solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Familiarity with BMS, CAFM, and energy monitoring systems. Desirable Experience working in critical environments (e.g., data centres, healthcare, or high:security sites).
