How You’ll Make an Impact as a Principal Software Engineer

As a Principal Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our technology stack, bridging system architecture with hands-on development. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring our solutions are scalable, reliable, and impactful for global supply chains.

Key responsibilities include:

Owning the end-to-end architecture of our products, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer needs.
Leading the design and implementation of enterprise-scale applications using microservices and event-driven architectures.
Driving data-informed decisions through analytics and performance metrics to enhance system efficiency.
Collaborating cross-functionally with engineers, product designers, architects, and project managers to optimise the software development lifecycle.
Mentoring and leading engineering teams, fostering a culture of learning, innovation, and technical excellence.
Championing best practices in software development, keeping One World at the forefront of industry trends.

Your work will help optimise global trade and drive the sustainability of supply chains, ensuring that One World remains a leader in this space.

What We’re Looking for from You

We're looking for a strategic yet hands-on engineer with a deep understanding of software architecture, cloud technologies, and modern development frameworks.

To thrive in this role, you'll need:

Extensive experience in backend engineering, particularly with Java (Spring), Python, and Node.js.
Proficiency in frontend development using TypeScript and React.
Deep knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS) and services like ECS, Lambda, RDS, S3, SNS, and SQS.
Database expertise, including relational (Postgres) and NoSQL (DynamoDB) solutions.
Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) experience with Terraform and Terragrunt.
Familiarity with monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, Grafana, and Signoz.
Experience with identity & access management tools like Auth0.
A strong leadership track record, with the ability to mentor engineers and align teams with business objectives.
Excellent problem-solving skills and a data-driven mindset to navigate complex technical challenges.
