About

We are recruiting for a SAP Technical Specialist on contract to work for a leading Aerospace organisation. The role will be based in their Bristol offices 3 days per week and 2 remotely.

Role Overview – We are looking for a SAP Technology Specialist to join this highly motivated, international, and multi-functional team where you will be the local focal point within the organisation for all activities in the scope of the ERP platform team.

It will be important for the preferred candidate to understand business processes and technical implementation of SAP landscapes and define/suggest SAP best practices and golden rules. The area of responsibility will extend to deep technology root cause analysis, performance improvement ensuring no unplanned downtimes complying with SAP Security parameters.

Relationships will also be a key aspect to this role, interacting directly with both key users in the business and with other systems developers in the IT organisation. Having good communication skills and experience of working in this capacity will be essential.

Responsibilities

Setup, run and support Change management and transport processes Coordinate / Follow the end-to-end incident management Monitoring and configuring the Basis settings, interface creation, DDIC changes Administration and Monitoring of HANA landscape Administer and maintain the multiple SAP instances that comprise the SAP environment (development, test and production) Introduce technical changes into the environment using a structured approach that minimises risk and achieves high reliability, availability and performance of each SAP instance Understand business processes and technical architecture of SAP landscape Define/suggest SAP best practices and Golden Rules Skill Set Essential

SAP development and functional support skills Proven consulting background in providing both technical delivery and operations on SAP technology Experience in SAP system security parameters and related implementation processes to ensure system security permanently Performance Tuning (functional and technical) – ability to analyse and fine tune existing systems Knowledge on upgrades within SAP systems

Candidate needs to have 5+ years of proven experience in a similar role

Candidate will need to be able to demonstrate their ability and evidence of working both on projects as well as at an operational level – requirement to deal with problems within the business whilst working in parallel on development of new things within projects

Need to be an excellent, clear and concise communicator
