About The Role

About the Role

This role is focused on the development of a clinical pilot study to measure the electrical properties of glioblastoma (brain cancer) as part of the project “Development Of Multimodal Tumour Margin Detection Paradigm For Use In Neurosurgical Oncology”. In this role, you will work closely with the clinical project lead (Prof. Dimitrios Paraskevopoulos) and the engineering project lead (Dr. Christopher Chapman) to develop a clinically viable protocol to measure electrical properties of brain tissue pre glioblastoma resection surgery.

This Will Involve

Evaluating and optimizing electrical testing paradigms with clinical standard electrode arrays
Driving patient and public interaction (PPI) through dissemination of surveys and conducing focus groups
Development and submission of ethics plan to enable roll out of pilot study

About You

The ideal candidate for this role will have an MEng/MSc/MRes level qualification in either biomedical sciences / biomedical engineering or a clinical facing background (neuroscience / psychology / population health). The candidate must have a willingness to learn both the engineering and clinical aspects of this project to drive forward the translation of engineering technology into clinical use. Applications are particularly welcomed by candidates with previous experience in developing surveys, running focus groups, or engaging with clinical ethics.

As part of this project, you will have access to laboratory facilities in the School of Engineering and Materials Science and Blizard Institute along with clinical experience at The Royal London Hospital.

About us Adia's mission is to try and decarbonise home heating - a sector which represents up to 30% of emissions in Europe.
