Function: Project Management Officer / Finance

Location: Head Office, St Vincent Street, Glasgow

Job Level: (Internal Reference Only) 1

Salary: Scottish Living Wage

Contract: 3 Month Fixed Term Contract - 9th June 2025 - 29th August 2025. Full Time 35 Hours per week.

What the opportunity looks like:-

Following on from the success of previous years, Whyte and Mackay are excited to announce their 2025 internship programme.

We have the opportunity for 8 Interns to join our 2025 internship cohort, this will be spread across various different areas within the business.

This will give students / graduates the opportunity to gain valuable work experience and skills within Whyte and Mackay home to a collection of multi-award-winning global whisky brands.

The Data Intern key responsibilities:-

Skills Development and Cost-Effective Support: Enhance data analytics capabilities using Python to minimise reliance on external partners.

Agile Implementation and Technology Integration: Facilitate agile data process improvements, supporting cloud data transformation and automation.

Collaboration and Cross-Functional Exposure: Foster collaboration across departments to support data migration, API integration, and Power BI analytics.

Talent Pipeline Development: Inform our talent pipeline by training individuals in our data infrastructure for future full-time roles.

Research and Best Practices Compilation: Optimise data storage within our Data warehouse projects by researching and compiling best practices.

API-Driven Integrations and Automation Opportunities: Support API-driven integrations and identify automation opportunities to enhance data utilisation.

Copilot Prompt Library Creation: Develop a comprehensive Copilot prompt library to assist in building and refining data warehouse schemas.

Robust ETL/ELT Pipeline Design and Implementation: Design and implement robust ETL/ELT pipelines to handle historical, current, and future data, ensuring data quality and consistency.

Workflow Annotation: Annotate workflows to enhance clarity and usability for team members, creating a blueprint for future iterations of data projects to optimise ways of working.

Technical Solutions Identification: Identify the most appropriate technical solutions for various functions within the data architecture.

Academic Networks and Resources Access: Increase internal access to academic networks and resources in the field of data architecture and engineering.

On completion of the internship you will:-

How to work with a variety of stakeholders balancing varying requirements to optimise solutions.
Improved problem-solving skills by addressing complex data-related challenges and finding effective solutions.
Completing deliverables on time to expected quality level within a project environment.
Making meaningful contributions to data processes, ways of working, and managing change.
Building professional networks; interacting with all parts of the business in fast paced environment.
Receiving feedback and mentorship; guidance on how to improve skills via Mentor and PMO team.

Skills And Experience That We Are Looking For

Be studying/interested in having a career in a relevant field.
Be enthusiastic and keen to learn.
Have good communication skills.
Have strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Be Computer literate and a basic knowledge of Microsoft suite.
Must be available from 3rd June 2025 to 30th August 2025.
Must be able to work onsite as and when required.
