Are you an experienced Senior CAD / BIM Designer looking for a dynamic and challenging freelance role? My client is a leading civil engineering contractor, delivering some of the UKs most significant infrastructure projects. With a multibillion:pound portfolio spanning structures, highways, and the water sector, this company is at the forefront of innovative and sustainable civil engineering solutions.
As a Freelance Senior CAD / BIM Designer, you will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team, producing high:quality 2D drawings and 3D models that support the successful design and construction of complex infrastructure schemes.
Key Responsibilities
x1F539; CAD and BIM Model Development : Produce and manage detailed 3D models and 2D drawings for large:scale civil engineering projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
x1F539; Multi:Disciplinary Coordination : Work collaboratively with engineers, project managers, and other key stakeholders to ensure designs align with project objectives and industry standards.
x1F539; Highways, Structures, and Water Sector Design : Support the development of bridges, tunnels, highways, drainage systems, and water treatment facilities, applying sector:specific knowledge.
x1F539; BIM Compliance and Digital Engineering : Ensure all work aligns with BIM Level 2 / ISO 19650 requirements, contributing to federated models, clash detection, and data:rich digital workflows.
x1F539; Automation and Efficiency : Assist in the development of automation, parametric design, and digital workflows to enhance productivity and improve project outcomes.
x1F539; Quality Control and Compliance : Maintain adherence to industry best practices, ensuring designs are efficient, sustainable, and compliant with relevant regulations and safety standards.
Skills And Experience Required
x2705; Extensive Experience in Civil Infrastructure : Proven background working on highways, structures, or water sector projects in a CAD / BIM design capacity.
x2705; Technical Expertise : Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks, InfraWorks, and other BIM:related software. Experience with Dynamo, scripting, or automation tools is an advantage.
x2705; Strong Understanding of BIM and Digital Engineering : Experience working within BIM Level 2 / ISO 19650 environments, including model coordination and clash detection.
x2705; Attention to Detail and Problem:Solving Skills : Ability to analyse complex design challenges and propose innovative solutions.
x2705; Collaborative and Proactive Approach : Comfortable working independently while contributing effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
x2705; Contractor / Consultancy Experience : Background in a civil engineering design consultancy or main contractor environment preferred.
