Job Summary
Are you passionate about workforce development and digital innovation? Join Greater Manchester Cancer Alliance as our ePortfolio Manager, driving the evolution of the GM Cancer ePortfolio to support healthcare professionals in delivering outstanding cancer care.
As ePortfolio Manager, you'll oversee the development and maintenance of the GM Cancer ePortfolio, ensuring it meets workforce needs across the region. You'll analyse workforce data to identify trends, collaborate with senior colleagues to support NHS trusts, and work with the Business Intelligence Team to develop insightful data dashboards. As the primary contact for cancer alliances using the platform, you'll handle stakeholder enquiries, provide user support, and facilitate engagement.
Your role will also include managing project timelines, coordinating platform updates with the development team, and overseeing the education directory to ensure learning resources align with the ACCEND framework. Strong analytical skills, stakeholder engagement experience, and project management expertise are key to success.

The post is 1.0 WTE and is fixed term for 12 months from start date. For staff working in the NHS currently this is a secondment only opportunity. For external candidates this is 12 months fixed term.
Main duties of the job
The ePortfolio Manager will support the Workforce and Education Programme to:
ePortfolio Management & Development - Oversee the operational management of the GM Cancer ePortfolio, ensuring smooth functionality, coordinating platform updates, and supporting the delivery of mobile app developments.
Stakeholder Engagement & User Support - Act as the first point of contact for enquiries, providing guidance to users, facilitating forums and training sessions, and maintaining strong relationships with NHS trusts and cancer alliances.
Data Analysis & Reporting - Work with the Business Intelligence Team to collect, analyse, and present workforce and ePortfolio usage data, creating dashboards and reports to support senior leaders in strategic decision-making.
Project Planning & Risk Management - Contribute to ePortfolio development projects by tracking progress, setting deadlines, monitoring risks, and ensuring timely delivery.
Governance & Compliance - Maintain accurate records, ensure data security and compliance with GDPR, and support financial and budgetary processes related to ePortfolio developments

Greater Manchester Cancer is the cancer programme of the Greater Manchester Integrated Care Board.

The ePortfolio Manager will support the Workforce and Education Programme to:
Leadership and Expertise
Support the GM Cancer Workforce and Education strategy by aligning the ePortfolio with workforce development priorities.
Lead the ongoing management and enhancement of the ePortfolio, including mobile app functionality and platform improvements.
Act as the primary contact for ePortfolio enquiries, providing expert guidance, training, and engagement support to NHS trusts, cancer alliances, and system partners.
Collaborate with stakeholders to drive platform adoption, improve user experience, and secure funding through bids with pharmaceutical companies and other partners.
Identify and engage key stakeholders using data-driven approaches such as surveys and audits to inform workforce planning and service improvements.
Present complex information to Boards and governance groups, ensuring stakeholder buy-in and alignment with strategic priorities.
Influence and negotiate with stakeholders to support project objectives and workforce initiatives.
Prepare and deliver formal reports, providing clear updates on project progress and insights.
Act as a subject matter expert, offering specialist guidance on ePortfolio use and digital learning developments.
Continuously monitor workforce challenges, gathering feedback to inform system improvements and best practices.
Set-Up and Organisation
Manage the ePortfolios operations, ensuring smooth functionality and alignment with strategic objectives.
Plan and facilitate user engagement activities, including forums, demonstrations, and training, to drive adoption.
Support mobile app development, liaising with suppliers and tracking progress for timely delivery.
Maintain up-to-date project documentation, including plans, meeting minutes, and task lists.
Capture user feedback through focus groups and use insights to inform platform improvements.
Work with the Communications Team to create promotional materials and awareness campaigns.
Collaborate with cancer alliances to share best practices and align ePortfolio developments with workforce education strategies.
Oversee the learning librarys development, ensuring content aligns with the ACCEND framework and national offers to avoid duplication.
Communication and Support
Act as the first point of contact for ePortfolio enquiries, providing specialist advice and escalating complex issues as needed.
Liaise with GM Cancer partners, NHS trusts, Learning and Development leads, and other cancer alliances to share insights, support workforce initiatives, and drive engagement.
Collaborate with the Communications Team to develop promotional materials and campaigns that enhance awareness and adoption of the ePortfolio.
Manage and update website content, ensuring alignment with workforce development priorities.
Build strong relationships with cancer alliances, NHS GM Integrated Care, and external partners to facilitate knowledge exchange and best practice sharing.
