Job Summary

This role sits within the DIO Accommodation Central Support Services team and will report directly to the Asset Management Lead. DIO Accommodation are responsible for the management of the Ministry of Defences Housing stock as well as supporting infrastructure. Following the landmark deal that brought the full stock back under public management, there is the need for an individual with data engineering and analysis skills to aid in the consolidating of asset and infrastructure related data into coherent, exploitable sets.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

Job Description

The post holder will lead on both the maturing of existing and the procurement and development of new data sets in support of wider business objectives. The post holder will be supported by the Asset Management lead to ensure milestones are achieved.

Key Responsibilities Will Be:

Data assurance activities such as accessing data completeness, validity and compliance with business rules.
The development of data flows in line with business rules to support wider business outputs.
Working with both internal and external partners to both mature and define business rules, ensuring they are correctly documented to support development of outputs.
Retain stewardship of data sets with responsibility for access management and ongoing validity.
Maintain awareness of the organisations changing data architecture and adapt existing data flows to ensure, as far as practicable, uninterrupted data availability.
Support the Asset Management lead in consolidating existing data repositories and sources into systematised environments.
Lead on asset attribution capture in line with agreed business priorities.

Person specification

Essential:

Demonstrable experience of working with multiple data sources to produce consolidated outputs in support of business requirements.
Demonstrable understanding of data engineering fundamentals.
Demonstrable experience of SAS Enterprise Guide Usage in the generation of consolidated data sets

Desirable:

Asset Management experience.
Usage of the SAS based applications.
Use of SQL and Python languages.
Use of Power BI or other visualisation platforms.

Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments.
