Job Specifications
As the Engineering Manager for Network Device Monitoring (Core) you will lead the engineering team building the core parts of Datadog’s Network Device Monitoring product. Datadog NDM allows network operators to quickly understand the health and performance of their physical network infrastructure. As Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for building a roadmap in partnership with product management, guiding the architecture of new systems, and growing a team of engineers.
At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships that it builds, the creativity it brings to the table, and the collaboration of being together. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our employees can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.
What You’ll Do:
Lead and mentor a growing group of software engineers to build and maintain core experiences in Datadog’s Network Device Monitoring product.
Work with product and design partners to drive a roadmap for device monitoring.
Learn about and integrate with existing and emerging network monitoring technologies such as SNMP, gNMI, and SD-WAN.
Drive processes for project management.
Who You Are:
Strong communication skills — while the team is entirely located in our Paris office, the team works closely with other teams in other timezones and has a strong written culture.
Generalist with a focus on backend systems — the team primarily works on backend pipelines for data ingestion but also maintains an on-host agent and occasionally contributes to the frontend.
Curious about networks and network monitoring — while you don’t need to be a networking expert to join the team, you will need to learn more about it!
[Bonus] professional experience with Go, Kubernetes, Kafka, Elasticsearch, or Postgres.
Datadog values people from all walks of life. We understand not everyone will meet all the above qualifications on day one. That's okay. If you’re passionate about technology and want to grow your skills, we encourage you to apply.
Benefits and Growth:
New hire stock equity (RSUs) and employee stock purchase plan (ESPP)
Continuous professional development, product training, and career pathing
Intradepartmental mentor and buddy program for in-house networking
An inclusive company culture, ability to join our Community Guilds (Datadog employee resource groups)
Access to Inclusion Talks, our Internal panel discussions
Free, global mental health benefits for employees and dependents age 6+
Competitive global benefits
Benefits and Growth listed above may vary based on the country of your employment and the nature of your employment with Datadog.
