I have an interesting Data Scientist role here, it's fairly junior, looking for someone with circa 2 years exp, possibly just one role under them from university. Lots of scope to become a Senior/ Lead in the near future though, so may be good for a mid weight who wants very good prospects!

Salary is circa £40K.

It based in central Manchester. it is predominantly on-site though there may be some flexibility here, such as 4 days a week on site.

Working for an innovative, alternative banking solution, their looking for someone who is happy to get stuck in to the Analysis of their Data. Working alongside 2 Data Engineers, there will be plenty of skills to pick up on, on in the not too far future, likely Lead for them in this particular space.

There will be some exciting initiatives to work on soon too, such as regression models , predicting customer behaviour. Fraud predictive modelling, segmentation models etc.

• You will be building and maintaining predictive models
• Responsible for analysing and understanding companywide performance, providing insights to drive them forward
• Suggesting and exploring new ways in which they can make use of their data
• Supporting the wider business with day-to-day data requests where required

What we're looking for a as a baseline in your experience:

• Degree qualified ideally (Maths, Data Science, Data Analytics, Economics).
• Circa 2 years of Data experience.
• Experience with Data Science techniques, such as Classification/ Regression.
• Strong SQL
• Data Visualisation tools (Ideally PowerBI)
• Good communication skills

As time progresses, we expect your contributions to extend across the broader business: Assessment and Analysis: continuously evaluate GCR’s business processes, data infrastructure, and technological capabilities; identify opportunities for AI integration and optimisation; analyse GCR’s needs, objectives, and constraints to develop tailored AI strategies that align with business goals and priorities. Establishing and Leading Engineering Practices: Define and implement best practices for integrating AI into engineering workflows. The Candidate The Candidate would ideally have the following: A degree in computer science, data science, artificial intelligence, engineering or a related field. Expertise in at least one relevant programming language (e.g., Python, Java, or C++) Familiarity with at least one AI framework (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn).
