Title: Senior Test Engineer- Hands on experience
Location: London (Hybrid, 3 days per week on-site)
Job Type: Contract (Inside IR35)- 6 months initially

We are looking for a Senior Test Engineer to join our client. The successful candidate will lead, plan, and execute all testing activities to ensure the successful deployment and operation of data centre systems. This contract is focused on producing and overseeing end-to-end testing processes, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring adherence to quality standards, security requirements, and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement comprehensive test strategies for IT infrastructure and datacentre systems.
Lead end-to-end test planning, execution, and defect management.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including DevOps, Networking, Security, and Application teams.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and quality assurance best practices.
Identify and implement automation opportunities to enhance testing efficiency.
Monitor and report on testing progress, issues, and risks to key stakeholders – by integrating with observability / visualisation tools and dashboards.
Champion test-driven development and quality assurance best practices within the organization.
Skills & Background
Minimum 6-8 years of experience in IT testing.
Proven experience in large-scale IT infrastructure (ideally HPC) or datacentre projects.
Familiarity with ITIL frameworks and best practices.
Strong understanding of security protocols and regulatory compliance within datacentre environments.
Develop and maintain disaster recovery, high availability, and backup/restore testing strategies.
Hands-on experience with hybrid and cloud-based environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Strong proficiency in testing frameworks, methodologies, and automation tools.
Solid understanding of datacentre infrastructure, including servers, networking, storage, and virtualization.
Deploy testing frameworks integration with CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with automation testing tools such as Selenium, LoadRunner, JMeter, or similar.
Hands-on experience in integrating test results into CI/CD pipelines.
Knowledge of disaster recovery, high availability testing, and backup/restore processes.
Effective communication and stakeholder management.
Desirable Technical Skills
Proficiency in scripting and automation using at least one of the following: PowerShell, Bash, Python, or Golang
Experience with monitoring and visualization tools such as Grafana, Kibana or Splunk.
Familiarity with test-driven development (TDD) and behaviour-driven development (BDD).
Understanding of infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).

- Job Summary Band 8A (Subject to Evaluation) Dartford, Gravesham and Swanley (DGS) Health and Care Partnership (HCP) is a partnership of NHS organisations, councils, voluntary care sector representatives, public health and local authority organisations. The HCP representatives work collaboratively to design and deliver better integrated services to meet the needs of the population they serve, with a particular focus on areas of greatest need. The purpose of this role is to support the embedding of a Population Health Management (PHM) approach across PCNs and wider stakeholders across the DGS footprint with the aim of reducing Health Inequalities (HI). The post holder will also be required to work closely with Public Health, local Council colleagues and the voluntary sector, to implement community engagement activities, developing local initiatives that help support our most vulnerable population. This role is one of four PHM Programme Manager posts, each based within one of Kent and Medway's Health and Care Partnership areas: Dartford, Gravesham and Swanley (DGS); East Kent; Medway & Swale and West Kent.
