Job Specifications
Insight Global is looking for a Systems Engineer to join a large financial institution for a 8-month ongoing contract located in London. The chosen candidate will be sitting with their core engineering LOB but more specifically be a part of their global Networks team. The candidate will be primarily working on VDI and Windows 11 products such as virtual applications and virtual desktops. Additionally, the candidate will be more aligned on the Microsoft operating system side/desktop operating side and will be engineering on-prem. 70% of the role will be focused on BAU tasks such as deploying new versions of Citrix and windows, upgrades and maintaining Windows environments/virtual desktop infrastructure across 80,000 machines globally, whereas 30% of the role will be focused on providing and deploying sustainable and configurable solutions for the existing platform following any escalations from BAU tasks. As such, engineering and scripting experience is required to not only provide support where necessary but to also provide infrastructure solutions if issues were to arise with deployments.
Qualification:
Systems engineering experience with Windows and VDI
Strong hands-on experience working on MS Operating system side/desktop operating side (not server centric)
Experience engineering, managing and supporting environments involving VDI (Citrix, RDS), and Microsoft Desktop
In-depth knowledge in Windows OS internals and group policy
Experience engineering, managing and supporting Virtualizations Platforms (VMWare ESX, RedHat OCP)
Experience with PowerShell as their primary scripting technology
Previous enterprise-level experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Plusses:
Experience engineering, managing and supporting Server platforms (Windows 10/11 and Server 2016+)
Previous Financial Services experience

Description As Financial Reporting Accountant, your main responsibilities will include but will not be limited to: Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Liaise with business and shared services colleagues for robust financial reporting. Assist in the preparation of annual statutory accounts under UK GAAP, IFRS, and US GAAP. Support the annual audit process, including financial statement preparation. Prepare quarterly Board reports and other required financial documents. Manage inter-company and third-party invoicing, ensuring timely collection of receipts. Review, update, and reconcile the general ledger for assigned legal entities. Knowledge of FRS 101 & 102, financial statement preparation, consolidation, and implementation of new standards. Experience in maintaining control frameworks and documenting controls. Background in external and internal audits, including liaising with stakeholders to ensure timely completion. Strong analytical skills to assess data, identify inconsistencies, and explain variances. Excellent communication skills for explaining technical accounting issues clearly, both verbally and in writing. Proficient in Excel and other office technologies.
