Lead Azure Engineer – Commodity Trading – London (Hybrid, 3 Days in Office) - Permanent
My client are seeking a skilled, hands-on CloudOps Lead to join and manage their infrastructure team. This role is pivotal in decommissioning legacy systems and driving cloud adoption from the ground up, ensuring seamless operation and performance of cloud-based services across various teams, including infrastructure platform, development, front office, and innovation.
The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in managing and optimising private Azure environments, endpoint protection, and secure networking practices. Operational excellence in cloud operations, including performance monitoring, cost optimisation, and adherence to regulatory compliance standards, is essential.
Responsibilities:
Lead the Azure cloud migration, ensuring security, scalability, and performance.
Oversee decommissioning of on-prem infrastructure and smooth data migration.
Design and implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep) and automation solutions.
Manage and mentor a small team while remaining hands-on.
Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to align with business objectives.
Requirements:
Experience working in private Azure environments with a strong focus on private networking.
In-depth Knowledge of Azure PaaS services including but not limited to storage, networking, security, compute, and hosting.
Proficient in Terraform for Infrastructure as Code, with strong experience in creating, maintaining, and scaling cloud infrastructure.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or other tools) for infrastructure automation and continuous deployment.
Hands-on support experience, working with infrastructure teams, development teams, and end-users to troubleshoot and resolve cloud platform issues.
