Job Description
As Commercial Finance, we partner with the business to drive value through our insight, influence, and collaboration. This involves the key financial skills of reporting, forecasting, and modelling to support ASOS in making proactive decisions to deliver profit and cash. Commercial Finance partners the following business teams: Sales, Marketing, Product, Stock and Supply Chain. We are part of a cross functional Finance team who also partner with FP&A, Financial Control, Tax, Treasury and Accounting to ensure visibility and ownership of the numbers by the business.
The Details
This role is a mixture of FP&A, Coordination and Special Project Support for the whole of the Commercial Finance team. You will be the glue of joining the dots together between the Proposition (Sales and Marketing), Product (Stock and Margins) and Operations (Supply Chain and Customer Care) to help tell the whole P&L story. By looking at the full end to end P&L for different cuts of data, you will be able to provide insightful information to Commercial teams on profit and cash performance
You will help to lead on the budget, forecast and management of risks and ops making sure that the teams relay to the central FP&A as to what needs to be delivered and when. You will also help with the coordination of the monthly business review meeting that the Commercial Finance Director leads on ensuring next steps are managed, that the pack is delivered on time and the business is clear on the expectations.
Commercial Finance often have to respond to multiple business changes and being able to model commercial propositions and provide ad hoc analysis on business requests on short notice is part of the fun. We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a highly reactive trade environment, has a strong attention to detail and who can effectively manage a group of senior stakeholders. Part of your role will also be supporting on these business initiatives where relevant until they become normalised as part of the business-as-usual process.
Things that you will be involved in:
Liaising with the Commercial Finance teams, to ensure a collaborative end to end approach towards business planning and forecasting.
Managing the risk and ops process for Commercial Finance and general tracking and analysis of performance
Being one of the key conduits between FP&A and Commercial Finance to ensure constant alignment on numbers, business plans and key timings and deadlines
Supporting the Commercial Finance Director with the Monthly Business Review and Full P&L review for their area
Building an understanding of the end to end P&L to ensure the dots are joined across the Commercial Finance function
Supporting the business with any key projects that required financial support to get them up and running
Qualifications
About You
An accounting qualification (preferably CIMA, ACCA or ACA).
Business partnering experience.
Enjoys working in a fast pace, reactive environment
A proven ability to plan and prioritise own workload to meet tight deadlines.
A strong financial modelling and analytical skills.
Advanced skills in Excel.
A high standard of accuracy with financial and statistical data.
An ability to organise own work and to take initiative.
An ability to determine insightful observations from detail for management attention.
