PHP Engineer
4 Month Fixed Term Contract (Full-time) - Potential to become a permanent role.
Salary - £40-55k per annum (pro-rated for fixed term contract)

The Role:
The Software Engineer role is a primary and vital role in the business that illumo digital sells to our customers. You will spend your time working with others in the organisation on the creation and continuous development of web applications, web services, and websites. You will be responsible for helping to estimate, develop, and communicate on a variety of projects belonging to a diverse range of customers. You’ll work with a broad team of Business Analysts, Solution Architects, Quality Assurance Engineers, and more to deliver quality solutions together.

You will be responsible for:
Participate in appropriate SDLC activities, following company standards and processes when developing software.
Be prepared to review others’ code and have your own work reviewed following company standards.
Document software and progress of software development in a consistent, descriptive, and timely manner.
Using your experience, evaluate and communicate risks and opportunities when evaluating options for software solutions.
Design and plan software development activities to ensure security, privacy, and quality requirements will be met.
Provide insight and suggest corrective actions for support issues raised by customers.
Proactively communicate complications and issues that may be caused in the course of carrying out your role.

You’ll bring the following to our team:
Professional experience using PHP 7+ in multiple projects, especially with Laravel.
Understanding of modern HTML and CSS.
Professional Experience with Git as a means of developing, merging, and deploying code.
Experience working in agile project teams, in particular using Scrum or Kanban.
