Automation Engineer

The role:
Within the CAR T organisation located in Gent, we are looking for an Automation Engineer with a minimum of two years experience within the pharmaceutical industry. This contractor role will be part ot the MAM (Make Asset Management) team. Candidates must have organisational / project management skills and demonstrate experience in stakeholder management. A good knowledge of PLC Siemens S7 knowledge is also required.
Key Responsibilities:
Define, prioritize, and execute projects with a focus on project management, planning, and stakeholder management.
Maintain & further develop knowledge of industrial IT/Automation/Networks/Systems/Data Integrity to ensure smooth operations.
Provide second-line support for industrial IT issues, apply troubleshooting methodologies, and lead a team of experts to resolve issues efficiently. Lead root cause analyses by leveraging the expertise of team members.
Utilize strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, internal customers, and stakeholders.
Create, implement, and manage lifecycle documents comprehensively.
Ensure GXP-compliance by implementing corrective actions and changes and thoroughly documenting them in the corresponding systems. Act as a strong bridge to QA from the department.
Ensure optimal collaboration with global departments to clearly translate projects and needs into local projects.
Train end users and system administrators.
Form strong partnerships with our suppliers.
Drive innovation and integrate new technologies.
Qualifications/Experience:
A bachelor’s degree (or higher) in industrial automation or a related engineering team.
Proven experience in a GxP-regulated environment.
Deep understanding of Good Automated Manufacturing Practices (GAMP).
Familiarity with industrial automation in the pharma sector is a plus.
Knowledge of PLC Siemens S7
Strong organizational skills and a proactive, solution-oriented mentality.
Ability to work independently and prioritize under pressure.
Previous experience in a large matrix organization is beneficial.
Fluency in English is required; Dutch at C1 level is preferred.
A collaborative spirit and service-oriented attitude.
Essential: Experience in a GxP-regulated environment, understanding of Good Automated Manufacturing Practices (GAMP), familiarity with industrial automation in the pharma sector
