About the Role
Scrumconnect Consulting is seeking a SC Cleared QA Engineer (Automation & Manual) for a contract role. This position requires a highly skilled all-rounder who can perform both manual and automated testing while working with Azure cloud technologies, Terraform provisioning, and CI/CD pipelines.
The ideal candidate must have active SC clearance and hands-on experience in Azure Data Factory (ADF), Synapse Analytics, Python scripting, Terraform, and Azure DevOps.
Key Responsibilities
Automation & Manual Testing
Design, develop, and execute manual & automated test cases for Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, and cloud data pipelines.
Create and maintain automation scripts using Python, PyTest, and Selenium.
Conduct end-to-end functional testing, including data validation, schema consistency, and API testing.
Cloud & Infrastructure Testing
Test Terraform-based infrastructure provisioning to ensure Azure resources (ADF, Synapse, Databricks, SQL) are deployed correctly.
Perform configuration and integration testing for cloud-based data services.
CI/CD & DevOps Testing
Validate Azure DevOps pipelines, release management workflows, and infrastructure deployments.
Identify and troubleshoot issues in build, deployment, and automated testing processes.
Performance & Security Testing
Conduct load & performance testing for Azure data pipelines.
Work with security teams to enforce cloud security best practices and compliance.
Collaboration & Documentation
Work closely with developers, data engineers, and DevOps teams to define test requirements.
Participate in agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and defect triage discussions.
Document test cases, automation scripts, and testing best practices.
Required Skills & Experience
SC Clearance (Mandatory) – Candidates without active SC clearance will not be considered.
QA Testing Experience: Strong background in manual & automated testing of cloud and data-driven applications.
Technical Skills
Automation Tools: Selenium, PyTest, Robot Framework, Postman (for API testing).
Scripting: Strong proficiency in Python for test automation.
Azure Technologies: Azure Data Factory (ADF), Synapse Analytics, SQL Databases, Databricks.
Terraform: Experience in validating Terraform changes for cloud provisioning.
DevOps & CI/CD: Azure DevOps, Git, YAML pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes.
Cloud Performance & Security Testing: JMeter, Locust, OWASP ZAP (preferred).
Soft Skills
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities with cross-functional teams.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Nice To Have
Experience with Big Data technologies (e.g., Spark, Delta Lake, Event Hubs).
Knowledge of AI-driven test automation frameworks.
Azure, ISTQB, or DevOps-related certifications
