Job Description

About the Role

As a Merchandise Analyst you will be responsible for providing analytical support to the Head of Merchandise Planning and Merchandise Planner.

You will drive the day to day analysis of trade performance for ASOS product categories across all business units, producing data insight packs to support decision making, and will work collaboratively with the product teams to produce and maintain commitment and OTB monitors.

What You’ll Be Doing

Delivering against existing strategy by executing deliverables against key milestones:
Producing pre-season and in-season analysis packs at product category level across all business units
Monitoring category and business unit performance and surfacing opportunities as well as potential risk
Participating in trade meetings with Merchandise Planners and Head of Merchandise Planning
Delivering insights on width and depth requirements to meet satisfy customer demand
Creating 'theme' packs on pricing and price architecture to support product and channel teams
Overlaying performance analysis with additional customer data to support trade decision making
Challenging existing analytical approach and continually drive new approaches to data insights
Incorporating the requirements of channel teams into data packs to ensure product requirements to enable visibility of local demand
Making judgements based on previous practice and precedence using:
Pre-season & in-season performance packs
Commitment, OTB and intake maintenance
Width & Depth analysis and recommendations
Pricing analysis and recommendations
Providing Head of Merchandise Planning and Merchandise Planner with analytical support to enable strategic decision making
Using revenue and profitability as a key measure of success
Providing analysis and visibility of the end to end performance KPIs at product category level


Qualifications

Commercial approach to data insights
Strong numerical acumen
Proven experience in fashion merchandising and/or data insights
Experience in maintaining sales, stock, intake and OTB trackers/forecasts
Ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work cross-functionally to drive the best results for ASOS.com
Strong organisational skills, able to use initiative and to work in a pressurised environment
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and appropriately with colleagues at all levels
Attention to detail
Able to use Excel to an intermediate level
