Job Specifications
Job Title: Java Software Engineer (SC cleared)
Location: hybrid – office locations Manchester or Croydon
Clearance required: Must hold active SC clearance.
Contract length: 6 months +
Seeking experienced Software Engineers with a deep understanding of Java (Spring Boot) and extensive experience working with large-scale microservice architectures. The ideal candidate is proficient in test-driven development (TDD) and has hands-on expertise in containerization (Docker) and relational databases like Postgres, preferably with migration tools such as Liquibase. Familiarity with modern DevOps practices, including continuous integration and deployment, is essential. Knowledge of Kafka is a plus, as is frontend experience with React and TypeScript.
What you'll bring:

- DevOps Onboarding Engineer – Central London We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Onboarding Engineer to join our banking client's Core Platform Engineering team in Central London. In this role, you will be responsible for helping new users get up to speed with our core platform engineering tools and AI products. This is a full-time, on-site contract role starting ASAP and running until the end of 2025. Role Overview As a DevOps Onboarding Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring that new users are able to effectively use our engineering tools and AI products. You’ll provide training and support, troubleshoot issues, and create helpful resources to make the onboarding process as smooth as possible. Key Responsibilities: Facilitate the onboarding process for new users, ensuring they understand how to use our core platform engineering toolsets and AI products. Provide training and ongoing support to users, particularly around DevOps processes and GitLab CI/CD workflows. Collaborate with product management, engineering, and support teams to address user needs and improve the onboarding experience. Develop and maintain documentation, tutorials, and other resources to assist users. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to onboarding and product usage, escalating where necessary. Collect user feedback to drive product improvements. Required Skills and Experience: Strong knowledge of DevOps processes and best practices. Experience with GitLab CI/CD workflows is essential. Cloud experience is required, preferably with Microsoft Azure. Proficiency in Java programming. Excellent communication skills – able to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
