Contract - Data Scientist - (R&D Innovation)

Rate: PS650 p/d Inside IR35
Arrangement: 2x a Month Onsite
Duration: ASAP Start - 6 Months Initial

Role Overview
We are seeking a Data Scientist to join the Data Innovation Team, focusing on leading innovative, data-driven projects. In this role, you will develop Proof of Concepts (POCs) from strategic business ideas and help test, refine, and deploy data solutions. The ideal candidate will have a balance of technical expertise and the ability to build strong business relationships, helping teams understand and implement new technologies that drive forward-thinking solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
Build and Deploy Data Solutions: Develop POCs that align with strategic business goals and demonstrate the value of new technologies.
Shape Technical Ideas: Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to refine early-stage ideas and solve technical challenges.
Lead Workshops: Present prototypes and POCs to business stakeholders, fostering engagement and understanding.
Innovate with Emerging Technologies: Apply cutting-edge tools and methodologies to improve business capabilities and drive innovation.

Essential Skills and Experience:
Proven Experience in POCs: Demonstrated ability to build and implement successful Proof of Concepts that bridge business needs and technical solutions.
Python Expertise: Strong proficiency in Python for developing data-driven applications.
API Development and Integration: Hands-on experience with building and integrating APIs.
Cloud Platform Experience: Knowledge of Azure (or similar cloud platforms); familiarity with containerized applications is a plus.
Business Acumen: Ability to understand and translate business processes into technical needs, and deliver solutions that enhance operations.

Desired Qualifications:
Consultancy or Digital Transformation Background: Prior experience in digital consulting or working on digital transformation projects is highly valued.
Broad Technical Interest: Interest in exploring diverse technologies and developing solutions that enhance business innovation, with a strong grasp of digital trends.
Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to effectively communicate with business leaders, challenge existing processes, and foster buy-in for new ideas.

You thrive on problem-solving, are eager to explore new tools, and enjoy working in a dynamic environment where you won't be confined to a single project or technology stack.

Nice-to-Have Skills:
Experience with Databricks or Azure.
Familiarity with synthetic data concepts, though this is not required, as learning on the job is encouraged.
Exposure to AI tools and technologies, particularly working with existing models and improving ecosystems around them.
Working knowledge of Power BI and a diverse range of technology stacks without being a specialist in one.
