About the job
We are seeking an experienced Lead Quant Developer to develop a high-performance, low-latency system for real-time trading. This role involves backend architecture, API design, and integrating quantitative models to support scalable and efficient trading operations.
Proven experience as a Lead Quant Developer in financial services.
Strong expertise in Python for backend development (Rust is a bonus).
Previous experience in a start-up environment (not large banks or firms).
Hands-on experience with API design and integration (RESTful APIs).
Knowledge of low-latency systems and high-performance computing for trading.
Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS, Docker, Grafana).
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Conduct code reviews and ensuring quality solutions are built and tested. Employ Agile engineering practices, Pair Programming, Continuous Integration, Test Driven Development, etc. Identify and implement improvements to products. Contribute to the technical code and design documentation. Requirements: Strong proficiency in Python, with hands-on experience in Django. Proficient with Sql and ideally a strong background in Relational Databases (Oracle or CockroachDB) Experience with build automation, test driven development, continuous integration and delivery Experience of Web UI frameworks such as REACT or Angular is advantageous. Experience in Cloud and Container based application development is advantageous. Expertise in software design using SOLID or GRASP is advantageous. Knowledge of data modelling / schema design is advantageous.
