Your challenge
As a Solution Engineer specializing in optimization, you are at the forefront of developing and enhancing OMP’s solutions for the chemical industry by creating robust, scalable optimization functionalities to address real-life industry challenges for our clients.
You Are Responsible For
Working together with our customers in chemical industry to understand their optimization requirements and translating them into technical industry-specific solution designs, mathematical models, and algorithms.
Collaborating closely with seasoned product owners, solution analysts, and consultants to validate and refine functional and optimization requirements.
Developing high-quality code that adheres to scrum methodology and the latest standards.
Reviewing and providing feedback on code written by team members.
Partnering with software engineers, QA testers, analysts, consultants, technical writers, and project managers to ensure seamless integration and support of your developments.
Maintaining and supporting your developments according to user feedback.
Growing your expertise and command of your preferred technology.

You will be part of the Industry team within our Customer Solutions organization. This team collaborates with the Commercial and Delivery teams to achieve industry business plan targets and strategies, providing industry-specific expertise and solutions.

A Master’s or PhD in Engineering, Mathematics, or similar, or equivalent by experience.
Hands-on experience with mathematical modeling, optimization (LP, MIP, NLP), and/or machine learning techniques.
Proficiency with programming in Python.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
A proactive approach to project ownership.
A strong affinity with IT systems.
The ability to thrive under deadlines and pressure.
A collaborative and fun team player.
Bonus Points If You Have
1 to 3 years of relevant working experience in supply chain planning or business software implementation.
Experience in the chemical industry through education or work experience.
Familiarity with software development best practices (e.g., Git, scrum, and/or automated testing).
Experience using Pyomo or similar modelling packages.
Willingness to travel.
