Job Specifications
Our client, a leading organisation in the nuclear sector, is currently seeking Senior EC&I Engineers to join their team on a contract basis. This role involves working on security cleared projects based in Reading, with flexible working arrangements that require on-site presence only two days every two weeks, and the remainder working remotely from home. Candidates must hold live SC Clearance.
Key Responsibilities:
Developing and implementing electrical control and instrumentation (EC&I) solutions for nuclear projects
Conducting detailed design and analysis of EC&I systems
Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards within the nuclear industry
Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver project objectives
Preparing technical documentation, including design specifications, reports, and method statements
Providing technical guidance and mentorship to team members
Participating in project planning, risk assessment, and mitigation activities
Conducting on-site inspections and evaluations as required
Job Requirements:
Experience in electrical control and instrumentation engineering within the nuclear sector
Current and valid SC Clearance
Strong understanding of industry regulations and standards
Proficiency in design and analysis tools specific to EC&I engineering
Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
Well-developed communication and collaboration skills
A degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, or a related field

The role will initially be based full-time on site but Hybrid working is open for discussion and could potentially be offered after the first 5 weeks in the role. In this role you'll be responsible for updating internal systems such as KPM which is used to record and manage supplier parts problems. This will involve checking all logged concerns are recorded correctly and adhere to the relevant processes, ensuring that all concerns are where they need to be within the closure process, helping to support an efficient response to seeking solutions to expedite closure of all concerns. Further Job responsibilities are also outlined below - Organise and facilitate team meetings focussed on achieving the departmental strategic deliverables. Arrange the meeting locations, facilities, attendees and any supporting data required. Track projects for ownership and progress to completion, escalating topics that are not progressing as agreed.
