Power SCADA Tester - 6 Month Contract - On-site (Wokingham) - Inside IR35
Hamilton Barnes is seeking an experienced Power SCADA Tester to join a leading utilities company on a 6-month contract, with strong potential for extension beyond 12 months. This role involves office working, requiring 5 days per week onsite in Wokingham.
This role will focus on GE PowerOn Reliance SCADA Test Management, ensuring a smooth implementation of the product in collaboration with the customer and key partners. As a SCADA Tester, you will be responsible for managing test plans, ensuring functional coverage, and maintaining high testing standards across the project life cycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead SCADA Test Management, ensuring successful validation and transition.
Develop and execute test plans, scripts, and scenarios for GE PowerOn Reliance SCADA.
Ensure third-party suppliers meet client delivery requirements through test assurance.
Collaborate with Product Owners, SCADA SMEs, and business testers to define and capture test requirements.
Track and report test progress using JIRA/XRAY.
Identify and mitigate risks/issues related to SCADA testing.
Support problem-solving activities, ensuring any identified issues are resolved effectively.
Ensure testing is conducted according to a centralized test strategy.
Key Skills & Experience:
Proven experience in GE PowerOn Reliance SCADA and Transmission SCADA systems.
Strong understanding of SCADA, EMS, and PoR components.
Hands-on experience with configuration, automation, system tracing, and alarm setups.
Proficiency in PL/SQL, Shell, PFL, Perl Scripting.
Experience integrating PoR with corporate applications.
Ability to set up PoR Application and Database Servers, Historian DB, and Proxy Servers.
Familiarity with SCADA simulation tools (eg, SimSCADA).
Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux server environments.
Expertise in developing test plans, cases, acceptance, and transition strategies.
Experience working with electric distribution operational systems.
Contract Details:
Duration: 6 months (Strong Extension Potential)
Location: 100% On-site in Wokingham
Day Rate: Up to £500 per day (Inside IR35)
