Insight Global is seeking a Test Engineer to sit in Brentwood, 5-days per week for a 6 month ongoing contract. Working hours are 9-5PM GMT. There will be light travel involved for this role, travelling to different test houses within a 20 mile radius to test different hardware products. This electronic test engineers will be supporting all levels of testing from design verification through to supporting compliance testing at external test houses. Successful candidate will also have sufficient electronic knowledge to also be able to evaluate design changes and determine what validation testing may be required to be able to approve any changes. The candidate will be supporting the Design and Development teams with product testing and evaluation. Candidate will gather data from testing reports via Pivot Tables and Excel, and produce presentable documentation on the testing outcome which will be shared with technical and non-technical stake holders. Candidates must have great communication and documentation skills with strong business acumen. Must be comfortable working independently, and in a team environment.

What you’ll do:
Responsible for hardware testing, producing test reports
Maintain and develop automation test tools to improve overall test efficiency.
Support the Design and Development teams with product testing and evaluation and recommending further investigation if required.
Create and develop test plans for new technologies and new products

What you’ll bring:
Engineering mindset and eagerness to learn new skills
Experience using electronics test equipment such as oscilloscopes, Digital multi-meter, spectrum analysers.
Background in Electronics.
Knowledge of compliance standards such as EMC, Radio, Safety.
Experience in using test and validation methodology and scripts to test hardware and/or systems/platforms
An understanding of how to sort and present test data to illustrate outcome of testing.
UK drivers license and own car to commute to off-site test houses.
Experience in working with developers to design test cases for new products/technology (non-essential)
Experience in summarising technical information with varying levels of detail, depending on audience (non-essential)
Some experience in managing a test workstack (non-essential)

Job Summary Launched in 2016, the UK Public Health Rapid Support Team (UK-PHRST) is an innovative government-academia partnership funded by the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) and co-led by UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) and the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), with a consortium of academic and implementing partners in the UK and internationally. It comprises a multidisciplinary team of public health professionals and researchers with a novel integrated triple-remit of outbreak response, research, and capacity strengthening to prevent and control epidemics of infectious diseases in countries eligible for UK Official Development Assistance (ODA). Both institutes contribute to and are responsible for delivery of the UK-PHRST triple mandate across outbreak response, research and capacity strengthening, with LSHTM leading the research programme and UKHSA who lead the outbreak response. Main duties of the job The Field Epidemiologist, as a key member of the multi-disciplinary rapid support team, will be responsible for contributing to the surveillance, epidemiology and outbreak control functions of the UK-PHRST and for supporting investigations and providing expert epidemiological advice during outbreak responses and emergencies, where required.
