We have an exciting assignment on offer to help the Company meet the deadlines of some really exciting projects that are coming up! There is a wide spectrum of work to be involved with, including cost reduction and quality improvements through to NPI and updating existing product line up and involved with Design validation work.
What will you be responsible for:-
As a Development Engineer in the team, you will be expected to have relevant development experience, knowledge of IC engines and be able to lead, plan and execute challenging tasks and projects. Tasks will include:
Execution of Core Engine System validation activities
New product development technical issue resolution.
Conducting FMEA on components and systems to identify and address design risks and determine validation needs.
Plan and execute validation tests.
Conducting component and system design reviews
Keeping peers, team leader and management up to date with progress against planned activities.
Support resolution to production, test and field issues, diagnose issues to root cause, put in place containment actions, and develop permanent corrective actions. Work with suppliers and keep stakeholders informed of progress and decisions
To be considered please ensure your CV reflects:
Technical background (HNC or technical degree preferred in mechanical or automotive engineering) though other qualifications or experience are equally valued
Knowledge in a minimum of one or more of the following Core Engine systems: Rotating Systems, Valvetrain, Castings, Lubrication, Breather and Cooling systems, Bolted joint and sealing experience
Minimum 3 years relevant development experience
Good understanding of Manufacturing principles and processes
Development experience of mechanical components and systems, including both rig and complete system testing.
Desirable:
Knowledge of industrial engines in diesel or alternative fuel operation.
8D problem solving, Creation and Maintenance of DVP&R and FMEA’s
Experience of running and participating in FMEA
Knowledge and usage of Team Centre or similar data management software
New design development following the APQP methodology
