The Role:

We are seeking a smart and highly motivated individual to join our product team and take on the role of a ‘Design Lead'. In this role you will lead and manage the design process independently, from concept to implementation. You will collaborate with cross functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and different stakeholders to define and executive the product strategy. You will act as a strategic partner, providing insights and recommendations to guide product decisions.

Work with the VP of Product to define ways of working for product and design
Mentor and guide a small team of designers, fostering a collaborative and innovative design culture
You'll help to implement best practices around discovery and research, ensuring that designers and product managers are equipped with the tools they need to uncover meaningful insights
You'll have a keen eye for visuals and help our marketing/commercial teams to develop the YouLend brand
You'll support the development of our design system, working with product designers and front-end engineers to create useful components that speed up product delivery
Promote and ensure accessibility best practices are integrated into all aspects of product design
Advocate for inclusive design that caters to a diverse user base, including individuals with disabilities and those with ESL (we operate in 9 countries across the UK, US and EU)


You Have:

Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
Minimum of 6 years of experience in product design, with at least 2 years' experience in line management/mentorship - ideally of 2 or more designers
Proficiency in design and prototyping with Figma
Strong understanding of user-centred design principles and methodologies
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Demonstrable experience working with product managers/leads, both on hands-on delivery and higher-level, strategic work
Strong portfolio showcasing a range of UX and UI design
