My client, a leading IT services provider, is looking for a Senior Network Consultant to join on an initial 6-month contract based near Hounslow!
Key Details:
Location: Hounslow (Hybrid potential)
Contract Length: 6 months (Scope for long term extension)
Rate: Negotiable (Inside IR35)

Key Responsibilities:
Develop and document detailed technical LLD based on high-level architecture.
Configure, test, and deploy network solutions in customer environments.
Validation of HLD: Ensure solutions align with overall network architecture and customer requirements.
Configure and optimize Checkpoint Firewalls, ensuring robust security policies.
Install, optimize, and manage Cisco Wireless APs to ensure seamless connectivity.
Work directly with customers, providing technical expertise and ensuring smooth project delivery.
What We're Looking For:
Juniper Routing & Switching - Hands-on design/deployment/Support experience
Checkpoint Firewalls - Knowledge of configuration & troubleshooting
Experience in network implementation, design validation & deployment
Ability to engage with stakeholders effectively

Job Description
We are recruiting for an experienced security engineer with expertise in developing and maintaining product security management systems for defence and government customers. This position will report to the Head of Product Security and will take responsibility for all security aspects of product design, development, verification and maintenance through all phases of the product lifecycle. The role will focus on undertaking security risk assessments for products, preparing security risk mitigation plans, deriving security requirements and working with product development teams to design, implement and maintain appropriate security controls. The security engineer will work with customer security accreditors and SMEs as well as project engineering teams to ensure product compliance with customer and company security policies and any residual security risks are adequately defined and managed. Key Responsibility Areas The successful candidate will report to the Head of Product Security (ISP) and be responsible for providing security advice to product development teams in a range areas including: Production of Security Managements Plans, work package descriptions and cost estimates in support of product bids, services and proposals. Undertaking security risk assessments, risk mitigation plans, mitigation gap analysis and preparation of security management documentation for system Accreditation. Defining product security requirements, advising development teams on suitable implementation standards and techniques and overseeing product development activities. Liaison with Security Accreditors and Security Assurance Coordinators in support of security accreditation. Preparation of Protection Profiles, Security Targets and Evaluation Management Plans, and liaison with NCSC and commercial evaluation teams in support of evaluation activities. Registered NCSC certified professional at senior level or above, or NCSC recognised qualification, e.g. ISC2Certified Information System Security Professional. Knowledge of UK/NATO Information Assurance standards, procedures & systems, including Government Functional Standard GovS 007: Security, HMG IS1&2, ISO27000 series standards, NIST SP800 series standards, JSP440, JSP604, guidance material provided by NCSC, CPNI and NIST. As a member of the Digital Services team this role will be at the forefront of ARAG UK’s security strategy, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity and availability of ARAG’s information and information systems. The successful candidate will hold accountability for ensuring our ISO27001 accreditation is adhered to and successfully renewed, as well as assessing the information risk and facilitate remediation of identified vulnerabilities within the company’s network, systems and applications. In addition, you'll look lead on the strategy, road mapping and planning of security in the organisation as well as the management of the information security team This is an excellent opportunity to report on findings and apply recommendations for corrective & preventative action, whilst identifying opportunities to reduce security risks. Key responsibilities will also include documenting remediation options regarding acceptance or mitigation of risk scenarios, as well as facilitating and monitoring performance of risk remediation tasks, changes related to risk mitigation & reporting on findings. This role will help the company understand security threats and help create strategies to protect ARAG’s assets and interests for multiple ARAG entities. This is a strategic and hands-on work role, where you will manage a small team, whilst also supporting the Security & Governance Manager driving the IT Security strategy, leading projects, co-ordinating the team’s work and mentoring, coaching & developing them. About You We are keen to hear from candidates with a good understanding of information security frameworks, standards and security best practice (ISO27001, NIST CSF, Cyber Essentials, OWASP). You’ll have demonstrable knowledge and adherence to data protection legislation and regulatory requirements (e.g. GDPR, FCA SYSC, PCI DSS), as well as extensive experience and understanding of security analysis tools, defensive technologies and other security technologies (e.g. SIEM, VAS, IDS/IPS, Firewalls, IAM, NAC, patch management, anti-malware).
