AI & Data Scientist – Investments
(Contract, 6 Months), Outside IR35, Day Rate: flexible
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced AI & Data Scientist to join a prestigious investment management firm on a 6-month contract. In this pivotal assignment, you will work directly with investment teams to leverage AI-driven insights and advanced data analytics that support and enhance investment strategies. Your expertise in machine learning models, AI techniques, and statistical analysis will be instrumental in uncovering investment opportunities and optimising risk management.
As an AI & Data Scientist, you'll act as a trusted advisor, building and maintaining strong relationships with colleagues to develop a clear understanding of their needs. You will ensure the cost-effective delivery of AI and data solutions, demonstrating the agility required to address evolving business priorities. Your ability to translate complex data into actionable insights will position you as a champion for AI-driven decision-making.
By experimenting with new AI techniques and data sources, you'll help capitalise on business opportunities and contribute significantly to the mission of leveraging AI and data to enhance investment strategies and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate closely with investment teams to translate business needs into AI and data-driven solutions.
Design, build, and deploy predictive models, AI algorithms, and machine learning techniques to uncover investment opportunities and manage risks.
Analyse large datasets using Python, R, and SQL to extract actionable insights.
Leverage AI techniques such as natural language processing (NLP) and deep learning to enhance investment strategies.
Present findings to stakeholders clearly, turning complex data into practical investment recommendations.
Work with both structured and alternative data sources (e.g., sentiment analysis, web-scraped data).
Drive improvements in data analysis and modelling processes, championing the role of AI in innovation efforts.
Key Requirements:
Extensive experience as an AI & Data Scientist in the investment management industry is essential.
Strong programming skills in Python, R, SQL; proficiency in data visualisation tools like Tableau or Power BI is a plus.
Expertise in machine learning algorithms, AI techniques, statistical analysis, and predictive modelling.
Proven track record of working directly with portfolio managers or investment teams to deliver actionable, AI-driven insights.
Deep understanding of financial markets, asset management, and investment strategies.
Exceptional ability to communicate complex AI and data insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
