At Gecko, we’re revolutionising how universities connect with students. Our AI-powered solutions - like the Gecko Chatbot and event management tools - help top universities automate, engage, and enhance student experiences. But with great power comes great responsibility, and that’s where you come in.
The Role
As a QA Engineer at Gecko, you’ll be the gatekeeper of quality, ensuring our SaaS products remain reliable, scalable, and impactful. Working as part of an agile, cross-functional team, you’ll embed best practices into our development lifecycle, making sure our software delivers exceptional experiences for our users. You won’t just be finding bugs - you’ll be shaping the way we test, automate, and continuously improve quality across our platform.
You’ll be part of a team that ships small, frequent releases, meaning testing needs to be efficient, effective, and always evolving. You’ll advocate for quality at every step, from refining acceptance criteria to implementing automated testing approaches that speed up delivery without compromising reliability.
What You’ll Be Doing
Championing Quality: Work alongside engineers and product managers to ensure quality is baked into everything we build.
Testing Strategy & Execution: Define, implement, and execute testing strategies that fit our rapid development cycles.
Finding & Fixing Issues: Identify, document, and track bugs, ensuring they’re fixed before they reach our customers.
Evolving Our QA Practices: Help shape and improve our QA frameworks, tools, and processes.
Fast-Paced Delivery: Support frequent, small-scale releases without compromising product quality.
What We’re Looking For
2+ years of solid experience in a QA role within a software environment.
Strong knowledge of modern QA methodologies, tools, and automation frameworks.
Experience working in an agile team, contributing to sprint planning and retrospectives.
A sharp eye for detail, an analytical mindset, and a relentless drive to improve software quality.
Comfortable with fast-paced, frequent releases, and confident in balancing speed vs. quality.
Excited about AI-driven testing and how AI can shape the future of QA.
Who You Are
You’re a quality-first thinker who doesn’t just find bugs but helps prevent them.
You communicate risks and gaps clearly, helping the team make smart decisions.
You embrace AI and automation in testing, exploring tools like OpenAI’s Operator and Stagehand to enhance testing workflows.
You thrive in a fast-moving, agile environment with continuous releases.
You take initiative, solve problems proactively, and drive improvements in our QA approach.
What’s In It for You?
Work-Life Balance: 33 days of holiday, optional compressed 4-day workweek, and flexible working arrangements.
JFDI Attitude: We believe in getting things done within a short 34-hour workweek - work with a team that moves fast and delivers real impact.
Remote Flexibility: Embrace remote working with a stellar home office setup, also including MacBook Pro and headphones of your choice.
Workation: Take your work on the road and explore new horizons.
Perks Galore: Private healthcare, pension, death in service, EAP, and employee discounts & benefits via Perkbox.
Dynamic Virtual Environment: Work with some of the best in the biz in a dynamic, energetic, and super fun vibrant virtual office environment, where collaboration knows no bounds.
