Job Description
The Systems Engineer role within the Developer Experience Support team will be responsible for supporting various technologies and tools to optimise Visa’s Developer Tools/Services. Key responsibilities include:
Provide user support and technical expertise for a range of tools used in the software development lifecycle.
Tools include:
Kubernetes
Docker
Artifactory
Jenkins
Bitbucket / Git
Jira
GitHub
Discover and capitalise on automation opportunities that provide business value and reduce administration overhead
Support ongoing Developer Tools projects and provide technical input as needed.
Support complex technical issues in an interop production environment.
Participate in on-call support rota
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
Associate: Minimum of 6 months of work experience or a Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Qualifications
Associate: 2 or more years of work experience
Required Skills/Experience:
2+ years of experience working in the capacity of a devops role, build/release/systems engineer, or any other software development related job
Good working knowledge of Kubernetes / Docker
Good working knowledge in the use of software build tools, e.g. maven, npm or gradle
Good working knowledge in using CICD tools, e.g. Jenkins or others
Experience in using Python/Shell Scripting/Powershell/Groovy, or any scripting language
Experience with Java, golang, or .net programming languages is advantageous
Experience with source code management tools, e.g. Bitbucket, AzureDevOps and GitHub
Good knowledge of Software Configuration Management best practices and procedures
Proven ability to multi-task
Self-motivated and adaptable to change
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work in a team setting
