Job Summary
The Ministry of Defence Police (MDP) is the MOD’s national civilian police force, protecting sites critical to Defence and US Visiting Forces within the UK. The MDP is an armed police force and provides specialist capabilities including marine policing, detection dogs and criminal investigation. MDP deploy police officers and civilians at locations in England and Scotland, with the Force Headquarters located at RAF Wyton near Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire.
The MDP Pay Compliance & Systems Role sits within MDP Headquarters in the People Team. The role supports governance and compliance of internal policies and the management of a variety of HR and Pay/Allowances policy activities including the implementation of police annual pay awards. The role would provide the opportunity to develop effective working relationships with representatives from the wider MOD, Government Legal Team, Pay Teams, Home Office and other National Police forces.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
Job Description
Support for the timely implementation of the annual police pay award within the MDP.
Support the implementation and review of police allowances.
Provide support to the People team in undertaking regular reviews of MDP HR Polices.
Focal point for People Team Business Continuity Plan.
Update and maintenance of MDP People Hub digital presence, working alongside colleagues to ensure content and data is relevant and up to date.
Manage the compliance of the People Team to a variety of internal policies and practices.
Assist in the gathering of internal information in response to requests.

Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance. The post does not offer relocation expenses.
