Senior Backend Engineer or FullStack Engineer - NodeJS/TS - Remote
The Role
A growing Web3 scale-up is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to build and maintain high-performance backend services for a cutting-edge blockchain-based platform. This role involves working with Node.js and TypeScript to develop scalable, cloud-native solutions, with a strong emphasis on security, performance, and API optimization. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in GraphQL, AWS serverless architectures, and CI/CD pipelines, and will play a key role in shaping the future of decentralized transaction processing.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and support backend services using Node.js and TypeScript
Design and enhance GraphQL APIs with Apollo Server and build RESTful APIs using Koa.js
Integrate backend systems with third-party APIs and external platforms
Architect and manage AWS serverless solutions, including Lambda, API Gateway, and DynamoDB
Implement robust authentication and authorization mechanisms using JWT and OAuth
Improve API efficiency through optimized caching (Redis) and streamlined database queries
Configure and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automate infrastructure deployment using CloudFormation
Monitor system health and manage error logging with AWS CloudWatch
Enhance database indexing and query performance to handle large-scale transactions
Write and uphold unit, integration, and end-to-end tests with Jest
Work closely with frontend teams, product managers, and designers to ensure smooth system integration
Provide guidance to junior developers and conduct code reviews to uphold best practices
Maintain clear and up-to-date API documentation and system architecture references
Follow Web3 security protocols and industry best practices to ensure system integrity
About You
Fluent in English with excellent communication skills
8+ years of experience in full stack application development
Expertise in React.js, React Native, Node.js, and TypeScript
Experience with REST APIs, GraphQL (Apollo Server), and Prisma ORM
Solid understanding of relational databases (MySQL) and query optimization
Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS) and related services
Experience mentoring junior developers and conducting code reviews
Capable of managing software projects from inception to production deployment
