Right now, we’re looking to recruit a dynamic Business Intelligence Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned BI specialist, to quickly establish themselves within the BI team in a busy environment where reporting on company performance is key to decision making at the top level. They will be able to develop not only their technical skills, but also their career in an exciting and often challenging environment.
The role
The Business Intelligence Engineer will form an integral part of our current BI team and will help us implement our future BI strategy, deliver and improve our existing reporting capabilities, and provide high quality data and analysis to the wider business and our partners. This will include generating, organising, and maintaining business interfaces. You’ll use BI tools to curate interactive dashboards, reports and visualisations
You’ll work closely with business stakeholders, ascertaining requirements and developing technical solutions. You’ll also lead BI development and deployment, conducting maintenance when needed and identifying opportunities to improve existing solutions and optimise data workflows
Where necessary you’ll also provide general technical support and guidance to help deliver user-friendly data products across all levels of the business.
FCA certification regime & conduct rules
L&C is authorised and regulated by the FCA and is classified as an Enhanced Firm under the Senior Manager’s and Certification Regime (SM&CR). This role is subject to the 6 FCA Conduct rules and you will be expected to adhere to them at all times. (See below). Any confirmed breaches of the Conduct Rules will be reported to the FCA annually. Should you apply for a Certified role in another financial services firm then L&C may be required to disclose this information in a Regulatory Reference request.

About you
We’re looking for a seasoned BI or data Engineer with a great ability to conduct high level data analysis and modelling, with demonstrable knowledge in Power BI tools and development for data visualization and consumption, as well as proficiency in t-SQL, high experience in SSRS and SSIS, and a strong understanding of ELT, ETL, and data warehousing concepts such as Kimbal. Experience and knowledge with Azure cloud environment, Agile/DevOps approaches to development and familiarity with Python or other scripting languages for data manipulation is desirable.
Knowledge and experience of financial services, in particular mortgages, would be useful but not essential. Furthermore, whilst we recognise and value academic and technical qualifications, we are more interested in your relevant technical expertise in the above areas.
