Azure Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

Role Overview
I am seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our Digital & Complex Initiatives team. This role focuses on maintaining the reliability, scalability, and security of the cloud-based infrastructure while optimising deployment processes.
Based in London you will be covering European time zones, working closely with engineering and business teams to support the firms Azure environment.

Key Responsibilities
Cloud Infrastructure Management: Support and maintain Azure-based applications, ensuring stability, scalability, and compliance within the cloud environment.
Deployment & Automation: Set up CI/CD pipelines, deploy applications into non-production environments, and work with Terraform, GitHub Actions, Databricks, and Azure PaaS services.
Incident & Production Support: Act as L3 support, collaborating with production support teams, diagnosing issues, and managing resolution of complex failures across application, infrastructure, and business logic layers.
Business & Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a bridge between engineering teams and business stakeholders by providing clear incident updates, root cause analysis, and mitigation plans.
Audit & Compliance: Ensure all security, encryption, and data compliance standards are met, support internal/external audits, and maintain operational resilience.

Technical & Soft Skills Required
Strong expertise in Azure services (Data Factory, SQL, Databricks, Kudu, Redis).
Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools, Terraform, Python, and infrastructure automation.
Analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues across application, infrastructure, and business logic.
Ability to work independently while collaborating with regionally dispersed teams across Europe and North America.
Flexible approach to working hours, ensuring smooth handovers with US-based support teams when required.

Work Model & Expectations
Hybrid work model – Minimum two days per week in the office, with additional presence for critical business needs.
Standard UK working hours, with flexibility for major incidents or business-critical deployments.
