Data Analyst – AI & Ad Performance Insights
£45,000 - £55,000 base
‼Location: Office-based (4 days per week near Liverpool St, London), with flexibility for customer and prospect meetings.

An innovative AI-driven SaaS company is looking for a Junior Data Analyst to join their team and play a key role in transforming digital advertising. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of data, AI, and product strategy, with a clear path to Product Ownership.

What You'll Do
Automate and enhance prospect account analysis to accelerate deal cycles
Assess digital advertising accounts using commercial, industry, and AI adoption insights
Develop Python-based analytics to measure performance and AI effectiveness
Standardise key metrics for paid media efficiency, AI scoring, and industry benchmarking
Build automation pipelines to reduce manual analysis and surface insights instantly
Work with engineers to productise automated performance assessments
Engage with sales and customers to translate data insights into business impact
Influence product direction by identifying AI automation and reporting opportunities

What We’re Looking For
1 year+ technical Skills: Python, SQL, data visualisation (they use Shiny, but open to Looker, Tablaeau, matplotlib)
Communication: Ability to present insights and bridge technical analysis with commercial goals - storytelling and gravitas.
Ad-Tech & Analytics: Experience with Google Ads APIs, marketing automation, or SaaS analytics

What you’ll be doing As a data analyst, your role involves conducting in-depth analyses of customer behaviour, experimentation, and problem solving business questions through data. Your primary responsibility is to deliver actionable insights that will shape data-driven decision-making within our product squads and across the entire business. In this position, you will act as a valued partner and consultant to the product squads, contributing at nearly every stage of the product development process. Your involvement ranges from supporting ideation/hypothesis workstreams and defining success KPIs to evaluating product changes and challenging decisions through data-informed recommendations, especially during iterative AB/multi-variant testing. The role will also encompass: Being a Subject Matter Expert on site data, specialising in AB/multivariate analysis Writing SQL queries via Google BigQuery to derive deeper insights from our Google Analytics dataset Collaborating closely with researchers to comprehend and interpret qualitative data, piecing together the full picture of the customer holiday researching journey and customer needs Creating and configuring dashboards in Power BI or Looker Studio to effectively report core KPIs and trends for stakeholders Supporting commercial trade investigations and peer reviewing other analyst’s work with a methodical approach Support wider team in building out a best in class data environment About you Skills that you will bring to On the Beach include: As an advocate for a data-informed mindset, your mission is to elevate the culture of experimentation to new heights. We are looking for an individual with a detective and problem-solving mindset, accompanied by a strong passion and eagerness to learn all aspects of working with data—ranging from hands-on experience with technical ETL pipelines to engaging in discussions about the colour theme of our dashboard layouts. The ability to embrace customer centricity, stepping into the shoes of our customers, is not just encouraged but essential for success in this position.
