About the Role
Our client, a leading Finance company based in Brussels, is seeking an experienced Freelance Data Architect to design and implement scalable, high-performance data solutions. You will play a key role in defining the company’s data strategy, ensuring robust data governance, and enabling data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement scalable data architectures that support business intelligence, analytics, and operational needs.
Develop and enforce data governance, security, and compliance best practices.
Define data models, data flows, and integration architectures across systems.
Guide the implementation of data lakes, data warehouses, and cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Collaborate with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Business Analysts to optimize data workflows.
Assess and improve data quality, integrity, and performance across the organization.
Lead the adoption of modern ETL/ELT, big data, and real-time processing solutions.
Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging data technologies.
Requirements
Fluent in French or Dutch (English proficiency is a plus).
Proven experience as a Data Architect in a freelance or consulting capacity.
Strong expertise in data modeling, database design, and cloud-based data platforms.
Hands-on experience with data warehousing solutions (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, etc.).
Knowledge of ETL/ELT frameworks, pipeline orchestration (Airflow, dbt), and big data technologies (Spark, Kafka, Hadoop, etc.).
Solid understanding of data governance, security, and compliance regulations (GDPR, ISO, etc.).
Strong programming skills in SQL, Python, or Scala.
Experience working in agile and DevOps environments is a plus.
