We are seeking a skilled Contract Data Engineer to help build a cutting-edge platform for consolidating and analyzing customer data. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, ETL processes, and cloud infrastructure, with a focus on data integration, optimization, and quality.
Job Overview: As a Contract Data Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement data pipelines for our Customer Data Platform. You will play a key role in ensuring that our platform can effectively aggregate, process, and analyze data from multiple sources, enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with data architects, data scientists, and business stakeholders to define integration and transformation requirements for the platform.
Design, build, and maintain scalable, high-performance data pipelines for the ingestion, transformation, and storage of customer data from internal and external systems.
Work with various data sources (CRM, marketing platforms, transactional databases, etc.) to aggregate and process customer data in real-time and batch formats.
Ensure data quality by implementing validation, cleansing, and error-handling processes within the pipelines.
Optimize data storage and processing frameworks to ensure scalability and performance.
Use cloud-based tools and services (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) to deploy and manage data solutions.
Document data workflows, pipeline architectures, and procedures for transparency and maintainability.
Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues, collaborating with technical and business teams to meet deadlines.
Monitor system performance and conduct regular optimizations to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Ensure adherence to best practices for data security and governance throughout the data pipeline lifecycle.

The Data Exploitation Practitioner will work alongside Intercept Case Officers to analyse sensitive intelligence data to identify and extract information of intelligence value. You will provide direct support to operations by utilising your experience, skills and knowledge to gather, develop, and analyse intelligence. In addition to supporting operations using cutting-edge technology, you will also be responsible for more strategic work such as inputting into future capability requirements, developing tradecraft and knowledge to share with the team, wider community, and our partners. Key responsibilities: Work alongside Intercept Case Officers to analyse sensitive intelligence data to identify and extract information of intelligence value. Identify opportunities to utilise and gather sensitive intelligence, against the Operations Leads priorities, identifying gaps in collections and opportunities for filling those gaps. Build relationships and work closely with the Intercept Case Officers and the Sensitive Intelligence Units to better understand gaps and requirements. Identify opportunities that might be available within data collected or that could be collected. Create intelligence notes / logs for dissemination to further investigations. Develop capability requirements, techniques, methods, and technologies for analysis of complex data, identifying new ways of working and sharing knowledge with the wider team, community and Partners. Any experience of carrying out digital investigation, open-source intelligence (OSINT) or digital forensics investigations would be beneficial in the role. About ERSOU The Eastern Region Special Operations Unit (ERSOU) is dedicated to tackling serious organised crime and the terrorism threat across the Eastern Region. Created in 2010, ERSOU is funded by the seven police forces that make up the Eastern Region, with Bedfordshire Police being the lead force. The unit is made up of both police officers and staff from across the region. ERSOU has two main functions: regional organised crime unit (ROCU) and Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP).
