A global investment firm operating at the intersection of finance and technology, specializing in digital assets, is seeking an experienced DevOps Infrastructure Engineer to manage and maintain a cloud-based systematic trading infrastructure while developing tools to enhance and accelerate research.
The team is composed of experienced professionals with backgrounds in trading, blockchain, and quantitative research who are committed to building cutting-edge infrastructure to support trading and research activities, leveraging the latest advancements in cloud technologies and automation.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in software development tools, production management, and cloud-based infrastructure within a systematic trading environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, manage, and maintain production, research, and trading infrastructure across multiple cloud regions
Optimize low-latency systematic trading compute and network infrastructure
Support large-scale research computing and modelling workloads with resilient, auto-scaling clusters and efficient hardware utilization
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, including server downtime, network connectivity problems, and cloud outages
Continuously monitor system performance, identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities, and other risks that could impact trading operations
Collaborate with quantitative researchers, traders, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure the trading and research infrastructure meets their needs
Requirements:
5+ years of experience as an Infrastructure Engineer or in a similar role within a high-performance, fast-paced environment—ideally in buy-side systematic trading
Hands-on experience with cloud technologies (AWS preferred)
Expertise in Kubernetes, including managing large auto-scaling clusters and highly available services, as well as familiarity with GitOps tools such as FluxCD or ArgoCD
Strong Linux administration skills, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting in production environments
Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools—Terraform mastery is required; additional experience with automation tools like Ansible is a plus
Strong knowledge of networking, including UDP, TCP/IP, routing protocols, VPN technologies, and user-space kernel bypass networking
Experience with monitoring frameworks like Prometheus and Grafana
Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work independently, and excellent verbal and written communication skills
