Contract Lead AI Engineer - Energy Trading - OUTSIDE IR35 - Hybrid
We are seeking a Contract Lead AI Engineer with extensive experience in AI Development.
The ideal candidate will have:
Proven ability to design and deploy advanced algorithms, handle complex datasets, and build sophisticated AI applications relevant to trading and financial markets.
Strong understanding of supervised and unsupervised learning, as well as deep learning architectures (e.g., CNNs, RNNs). Capable of assessing model performance using metrics such as accuracy, precision, recall, and F1 score.
Proficiency in data acquisition, cleaning, pre-processing, and analysis, with a focus on delivering insights to support trading strategies and decision-making.
Expertise in cloud computing, microservices, and distributed systems to enable scalable trading platforms and analytics.
Advanced experience with key libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, and frameworks like ML.NET, ensuring efficient data processing and AI development.
Skilled in Git-based branching workflows within Azure DevOps to ensure streamlined integration and deployment processes.
Proven ability to manage and query large datasets (e.g., market data, trade logs) using tools like MongoDB, SQL Server, or similar technologies.
Demonstrated expertise in optimising Python-based applications for high efficiency and scalability in trading environments.
In-depth knowledge of server-side API development and client-server models to power trading systems.
Familiarity with streaming APIs for real-time data processing, essential for trading analytics and market data feeds.
Responsibilities
Define and lead the technical strategy across AI-driven trading applications, ensuring industry best practices are followed.
Work closely with trading desks, analysts, and other business stakeholders to align technical solutions with trading objectives and operational goals.
Manage technical dependencies and integrations with other applications and teams, ensuring seamless system interactions.
Establish and uphold high standards of code quality through rigorous code reviews and best practices.
Collaborate with the Architecture team to implement scalable, consistent design principles that support trading systems.
Provide input into the development roadmap, helping define technical solutions and patterns that support the trading house’s growth and operational efficiency.
