A client of Koda Staff's is actively looking for a Senior Network Engineer to join their team on an initial 12 month contract.
The role will include, being able to operate in a global datacenter whilst managing and executing projects to improve network security. The ability to troubleshoot and resolve network issues is also required.
Experience Required :
5+ years experience in Networking (LAN/WLAN/WAN)
Strong CISCO experience, ACI, DNAC
Firewall kexperience : Palo Alto & Checkpoint
Knowledge of system and application security
Languages : English & Dutch Speaking

This is a full-time mission with an estimated duration of 14 months and which will ideally start on ASAP Part of the mission can, in consultation with the manager, be done by teleworking but a presence on the Gosselies site of at least 2 days per week is mandatory. Additional days of presence on site may possibly be requested from the consultant, depending on the needs of the service (on an ad hoc basis). As the Gosselies site is not easily accessible by public transport, possession of a driving license and a vehicle will be preferable for travel. Context of the mission The resource will join the clients IP network expertise team which is responsible for operational management, configuration changes, modifications to architectures and security related to network equipment. She will have to ensure the design of the infrastructures as well as part of the level 3 support. The resource must have skills in routing switching and network security. She will also be required to contribute to the drafting of instructions, procedures and documentation. Main tasks • Design of the data network • Guarantee consistency between all systems • Technical expertise for projects, evolving requests and corrective requests • Ensure the implementation of modifications related to network infrastructures • Design and implementation of security aspects • Installation and configuration of systems • Management of external service providers • Monitoring and tuning of the systems making up the network • Ensure backups and restoration of systems • Introduce and monitor requests, incidents and problems with service providers • Analyze recurring incidents and propose solutions or escalate the problem to the Service Delivery Manager • Monitor updates and security patches on the systems. Collaboration with the department responsible for release management • Production and monitoring of operational and technical documentation of systems • Monitoring of system inventories • Production of KPIs: Performance, availability and quality • Rationalization and pooling of systems in order to guarantee good cost control • Participation in guards and interventions outside working hours Profile sought The technical skills sought and the associated seniority levels are listed in the Connecting Expertise skills section. - Level 3 Network Engineer This position is responsible for supporting the design, configuration, monitoring and maintenance of network hardware, systems, and software; including preparing any documentation for future reference and ensuring communication regarding network security and other issues is provided timely. Essential Duties: Develop and implement detailed logical designs in areas of: Routing and Switching Network security and Firewalls Multicast architecture MPLS and SD-WAN working knowledge preferably Develop secure network designs, maximizing the usage of equipment such as routers and switches. Analyse traffic behaviours, identifying and resolving any congestion or traffic issues. Establish procedures and best practices for data backups and disaster recovery operations. Monitor network performance to determine whether adjustments need to be made, and to determine where changes will need to be made in the future. Work with internal and external customers to fill information gaps and communicate architecture, technical solutions and DC audits. Work closely with the HQ Network team and pro-actively update the HLD and LLDs as required to upkeep the information with hands-on experience in MS-Visio Life-cycle management, patching, firmware and O/S upgrade and hardware refresh. Good understanding and knowledge of working principles of DC Compute and Storage & Backup Hardware to provide 1st level support as needed. Good understanding of Azure and AWS Cloud connectivity via Cloud exchange or Express route / Direct connect respectively.
