About the Role:
We are seeking a talented SQL Developer to join our dynamic Core Development Team within the DDaT department at Staffordshire Police. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, from developing in-house applications and interfaces to contributing to our Data Warehouse initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, test, and deliver SQL-based solutions to meet business needs
Collaborate with business analysts to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications
Work with various technologies, including SQL Server, Oracle, C#, PowerShell, .NET, R, Python, XML, and JSON
Contribute to the development and maintenance of our Data Warehouse, leveraging tools like Change Data Capture and SQL Server Integration Services
Support data quality initiatives and implement data quality checks
Participate in project planning, estimation, and risk management
Provide technical support to business teams using Power BI, Business Objects, and other data visualization tools
Contribute to the automation of tasks and processes
Essential Skills and Experience:
Strong SQL skills, including experience with SQL Server or Oracle databases
Experience in database design, development, and optimization
Understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes
Ability to write clean, efficient, and well-documented code
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desired Skills and Experience:
Experience with C#, PowerShell, .Net, R, or Python
Knowledge of Power BI, Business Objects, or other data visualization tools
Experience with Change Data Capture and SQL Server Integration Services
Data Quality experience
Business and Technical Analysis skills
Project Management or IT Service Management experience
