About the Company
We produce electricity and provide energy as well as energy services. We are the number one in onshore wind energy and hydropower in Belgium. We play a central role in securing energy supplies in Belgium thanks to several natural gas power plants that enable us to respond to the variable character of solar and wind energy. With an installed capacity of 2,185 MW in March 2023, Luminus represents about 10% of the total installed capacity in Belgium. We sell electricity, natural gas and energy services to private and corporate clients, with a commercial market share of about 23%. We invest in future energy challenges by offering innovative solutions to clients in the field of energy efficiency and by keeping focusing on sustainable energy development. As a Power & Gas Portfolio Optimiser, you’ll play a key role in managing our power and gas portfolios from day+2 to year+5. This dynamic role blends trading, asset optimization and strategic analysis to align with our hedging strategy and risk mandate.

Your Daily Job
You implement the power and gas hedging strategy, managing risks from short-term (D+2) to long-term (Y+5) within defined limits.
You analyze integrated portfolios, identifying synergies between assets and sales while optimizing hedging strategies with key stakeholders.
You manage weather and volume risks, collaborate closely with forecasting teams and optimize the thermal asset park availability in line with market valuations.
You act as the SPOC between the Optimisation and Generation departments, ensuring alignment on production planning and market strategies.
You structure and maintain portfolio models, ensuring transparency for monitoring, reporting and system updates in collaboration with Middle and Back Office teams.
You stay ahead of market regulations, representing Luminus in external workgroups while continuously improving hedging strategies and operational processes.
Your Profile
You have a master’s degree in engineering, finance or economics.
You possess strong knowledge of energy markets (power, gas, CO2) and financial instruments (forwards, options, swaps).
You are proficient in MS Excel and/or Python.
Technical understanding of power generation and transmission is a plus.
You are fluent in English and master either Dutch or French.
You have an analytical mindset, able to translate complex data into strategic decisions.
You are a strong communicator, skilled in stakeholder management and cross-team collaboration.
