An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Graduate Highways Consultant to join our highly successful team based in our Manchester office.

Our team works on a variety of projects aimed at improving road networks, promoting sustainable transportation, and enhancing public infrastructure. As an industry leader, we are committed to delivering high-quality, innovative solutions that meet the needs of modern transportation systems.

Your Role

Assist in the design and development of highway and road infrastructure projects, from concept through to detailed design.
Work with design software to produce technical drawings and models.
Support the preparation of transport assessments, traffic impact studies, and other technical reports for clients and local authorities.
Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure projects meet regulatory standards and client expectations.
Contribute to site visits and surveys, assisting with data collection, inspections, and reporting.
Stay up-to-date with relevant highway design standards and best practices, including the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and Manual for Streets.
Assist in project management tasks, including monitoring project progress, preparing documentation, and managing timelines and budgets.

About You

A degree in civil engineering, transportation engineering, or a related field.
Knowledge of highway engineering principles and an interest in road infrastructure and transport planning.
Experience with design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar) is an advantage (training will be provided).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
A team player with the ability to collaborate with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
Passion for transportation and infrastructure development.
Willingness to learn and develop technical expertise in highway design and consulting.

We are looking for Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join our Birmingham office.

As a team which specialises in the delivery of building services, energy and sustainability services, we offer a fresh approach to M&E, getting involved early, working collaboratively with the design team, guiding design development and using our expertise to help clients make key decisions – an approach that always results in a building that delivers.

You will be developing your technical skills through taking on a variety of complex projects as well as being supported in the development of your softer skills through our early careers learning and development program: ‘The Learning Curve’.

Your Role

Using Revit and 3D BIM modelling software in design production
Design co-ordination with other professional disciplines
Developing energy modelling & compliance calculation of building performance (Part L / IES)
Energy Strategy Reports / Sustainability Statements for planning applications
Participating in design team and client meetings
Attending site visits

About You

A degree and/or Masters qualification in relevant mechanical engineering or building services engineering subject
To be driven, hardworking, productive and determined
To be willing and eager to learn new skills
To possess strong IT competencies, an ability to problem solve, and find solutions to the challenges new software packages bring
To have excellent communication, interpersonal and writing skills
Previous industry-related work experience is an advantage but not essential

We are also keen to know if you can offer any of these attributes

The Opportunity

You will join a friendly team, contributing to high-quality projects and applying your skills to real-world challenges. This team provides geo-environmental and geotechnical expertise, collaborating on water company projects, infrastructure development, and community initiatives. Working within multidisciplinary teams, we contribute from initial design stages through construction.

Joining our experienced team, you'll analyse geotechnical data, create ground models, and design and report on foundations, retaining walls, soil and rock slope stability, and earthworks. We have an exciting opening for an aspiring Process Engineer to join our dynamic and collaborative team in Newcastle, where you will have the opportunity to contribute on high profile projects, both locally and nationally. You will develop your technical skills and knowledge alongside senior engineers, gaining invaluable exposure to the water industry whilst working on a range of developments from wastewater treatment and water recycling to clean water solutions – exploring the potential of nature-based solutions is a top priority.
