We are looking for a Software Engineer, Full Stack to join our Core Features team. Together with this remote, cross-functional team you will be responsible for the development, maintenance, and operation of Camunda Platform 8 including Zeebe, Operate, Tasklist, Optimize and collaborate to build new features in the Camunda Platform.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Contribute and improve how our users can build C8 Processes powered by our platform.
Understand, develop, and own the Java Backend and React Frontend of the C8 Applications.
Be empowered to drive the design, and implementation of new features.
Collaborate with Product Management, and other Engineers during scoping, implementation, and review of changes.
Contribute towards a great developer-experience, e.g., by automating deployment, or monitoring processes.
Discuss and propose architecture changes which improve the fundamentals of our solution.
Be empowered to make your own decisions while getting help and input of your teammates at the same time.

What You Bring:

Ability and/or willingness to use our product
4+ years of experience as a Fullstack Engineer using Java (Spring Boot, JUnit and Rest APIs) and React in a professional software application development environment.
Motivation to understand, develop, and own the Backend/Frontend of the Camunda applications.
Brings a “Manager-of-one” mindset: Promotes a proactive approach to managing individual responsibilities, fostering collaboration with Product Management, SRE, and fellow Engineers throughout the entire process from scoping and solution design to implementation, testing, review, deployment, and operation, while ensuring support and input from teammates when needed.
Ability to work in a remote environment following an incremental approach: use written communication for regular status updates and capturing key decisions, deliver work results in small iterations (within days)
You thrive in taking ownership of the codebase, as well as how you deploy and operate software. You are comfortable with the “you build it, you run it” mindset.

Nice-to-haves:

Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform
Knowledge of SRE practices and running SaaS applications
Knowledge of BPM and Camunda Platform
Experience with Preact, Playwright, maintaining npm libraries (specially open source), styled components

United States: $109,300.00 to $164,000.00
Germany: €72,700.00 to €109,100.00
United Kingdom: £70,900.00 to £106,300.00

What You’ll Be Doing:
Build, maintain and release high quality and reliable NodeJS applications for SaaS and on-premise that integrate Camunda with external systems
Integrate external authentication schemes with Camunda's own identity management solutions and supported identity providers
Bring curiosity and willingness to learn a powerful process orchestration product and ideas on how to make it more accessible for other platforms via app integrations
Develop, Test and Document high quality code and integrate it into an existing platform
Take and own decisions about architecture and tools to that lead to high quality product experience and reliability
What You Bring:
Ability and/or willingness to use and adapt our product to reach our goals
5+ years of experience with TypeScript/JavaScript, focusing on backend and APIs using Node.js, Deno, or similar technologies.
Strong understanding of building applications following the 12-factor app principles with web frameworks like Express, Hono, or NestJS.
Ownership mindset - comfortable managing the codebase, deployment, and operation of software ("you build it, you run it" approach).
Eagerness to explore and integrate with different codebases and APIs of other teams.
Nice-to-haves:
Frontend experience with React and similar frameworks
Proficiency in OIDC and identity solutions

You will be part of the team developing the Camunda Connectors Component that allows customers to integrate external systems without writing additional code in the form of our out-of-the-box connectors
You will develop an SDK that other developers will use to create re-usable process components for their organizations
You will be responsible for a self-managed (on-prem) product and a SaaS product offering at the same time and will work on challenges of both product forms.
