Net Talent have partnered with a FinTech business who are looking for a Software Architect to help with the design, build and implementation of creative applications to service the needs of their growing client list.
You will have a deep technical expertise in modern technologies and have a well structured approach to designing and developing business critical applications. This position offers an excellent opportunity to maintain ‘hands on’ coding involvement whilst also being involved in architecture and technical solution design decisions.
This is a Hybrid role and is 2 days onsite and can be in either the Edinburgh or Glasgow office.
Key Responsibilities
Designing and developing applications in close collaboration with stakeholders.
Providing guidance on the overall technical architecture of the team’s solutions.
Keeping abreast of the latest tools, techniques and best practice in software engineering and helping the team adopt best practice as appropriate.
Producing functional, technical and design documentation where necessary.
Contributing to our firm wide technical architect community and helping shape our overall architectural design decisions and principles.
Technical Background
Hands on experience with as many as possible of the following:
ASP.NET & ASP.NET Core

Angular

Functional design patterns
Azure cloud and associated technologies
Web services architecture
Single sign-on design and implementation
Object-oriented design patterns
Microservices

Experience
Experience of working in a DevOps environment supporting and contributing to agile software delivery essential.
Exposure to financial modelling, ideally within the Investment domain .
Able to translate end user/stakeholder requirements into detailed technical/architectural specifications when appropriate and in turn into robust solutions.
Strong experience of technical and architectural design with large-scale web applications.
In-depth understanding of non-functional requirements such as security and scalability.
Proven ability to collaborate successfully with client and 3rd party technical teams.
Proven ability to articulate technical concepts efficiently with senior stakeholders.

We are seeking a talented Software Developer to join our Product Delivery team, with an initial focus on developing our federated data analysis capability. Responsibilities include working in an Agile team to build successful products that meet a broad range of customer needs.
Must have Competency in modern programming languages and methodologies such as Python and Kubernetes, preferably within a UNIX/Linux environment. Below is a list of other required skills for the position:
•Can demonstrate design, development & delivery of new features
•Can apply best practice coding standards
•Ability to contribute technically across all tiers of companies platform services, both web technologies and back-end services
•Understanding of database development
•Show appreciation of all aspects of the software development lifecycle (e.g. requirements, analysis, design, implementation, testing and documentation)
•Experience of Agile development practices
•Experience working with REST APIs
Desirable Experience:
•Experience of the source control process using tools such as Azure DevOps, Git or SVN
•Experience of software build pipelines and tools such as ArgoCD/Flux
•Working knowledge of an integrated development environments such as RubyMine, Eclipse or Microsoft Visual Studio
•Experience of building and operating a SaaS/PaaS platform in a public cloud environment (Azure, AWS etc.)
•Experience of presentation layer technologies (HTML 5, CSS, JavaScript)
•Solid understanding of internet and web protocols, and how to develop RESTful APIs
•Experience integrating with third party APIs
•Knowledge of test-driven development (TDD) & behavioural driven design (BDD)
•Domain experience in healthcare or bioinformatic
